okay, make sure you stare real close and turn up the volume, or show this to a friend and tell him to do the same.

Someone must have filmed it. They found the camera with this footage by the roadside, the guy was never heard from. Happens all the time, my friend. You could be next.:ahh: ~D

All I have to offer are my occasional bouts of sleep paralysis. Essentially, as I understand the phenomenon (if it can be called that), I have a bad or frightening dream almost immediately after having fallen into the deeper stage of sleep. I'm aware, sometimes in a dream within a dream, of my surroundings, but I'm unable to move but incredibly slowly. My arms, legs, neck and so on respond as if I was deep in a vat of molasses. Breathing, too, is very difficult, and I often feel as though I'm suffocating. Sometimes, I'm able to maintain my composure for small periods until I manage to snap myself out of the state violently. Sometimes, I see spectres, probably created in my own mind. They can be anything from people I know, rabid animals, or merely ominous silhouettes.
I've been told that this isn't that uncommon and that some people connect it to supernatural or occult activity, particularly dealing with spirits who linger in corners. Old women are also particularly common hallucinations.
Anyway, good thread.
Re: Let's Scare Each Other!
I used to have night terrors when I was a wee lad, and then they stopped when I was about 9.
But essentially all it is, is you freak out in your sleep, and have absolutely no memory of it ever occuring. Quite frightening for my siblings and parents though.

I still suffer from severe night terrors not bad dreams. Its is often increadibly scary and I wake up having to immediatley reach for my asthma inhaler. All I can remeber is a feeling of great fear. Happens almost every night, very strange. Now that I have just peepeed myself from fright it might not happen to me? May be I should soil myself in another manner? C'mon give me you're best.
Re: Let's Scare Each Other!
Bopa,
I feel your pain. Wheeeeeeze...
My night terrors aren't in my dreams but start when I wake up at 3 am and reach for my inhaler and it ain't there. Usually all is well and I go shlomping around the house to find it, but once in a while I wake up (as perhaps you do sometimes) and my lungs tell me "You've got exactly one minute before I end you *********!" Then it's sheer bloody terror while you look for an inhaler and hope you find it before you pass out.
Only happened once this year, but that was as scared as I have been in years from anything. By the time I found it, it took a half dozen shots over a half an hour to bring me back and I felt like I had been beaten with a baseball bat.
Forget The Exorcist - try The Asthmatist.

If you want to be really scared:
Watch BBC3's Torchwood Episode 6: Countrycide. It is terrifying! It got my wife hiding behind the sofa. She just couldn't watch it out of fear of:
This episode is not recomended for anybody under the age of fifteen.
