Not sure if this is correct forum but how to activate factions w/o crashing game

Hi,

I know to modify the descr_strat.txt file by moving factions into the playable section. However in RTW when I move some factions into playable such as Armenia the game crashes out when I click on the faction at the faction-choosing screen of the imperial campaign.

What else must I do to unlock all factions? (I read somewhere that playing the SPQR will never work for some reason and that's fine - I'd just like to be able to play the other factions).

or wait til TWC's downloads are updated and download a all factions playable mod for RTW 1.5.

in 1.5 you need to have pictures of all the factions' maps etc... i suggest just copying one of the existing ones (eg map_carthage) and then edit it and rename it to map_macedon or whatever factions don't work... i would give you a more detailed explaination but i don't have RTW installed atm :sweatdrop:

im pretty sure this still is needed, i think it was in one of the versions, but you might need a faction description and a leader pic. the leader pic can be the same as the faction icon, and the faction description can be as simple as (borrowed from someones tutorial, or something like it) "armenia is the name given to the region after its well brewed beer." the icon should go into the same folder that descr_strat is in, and it should be labeled as leader_pic_armenia, and the description is in the text folder, labelled campaign_description.

So a all factions playable mod for RTW 1.5 would fix his problem.

As I can't edit posts yet I have to double post. I found one made by hader at TWC.

Install that into your RTW folder and it should fix your problem.

you just need maps and descriptions but not a leader pic but thanks for reminding me roman_man#3
