Game starts, and all AI factions are at peace with Slaves! Help Please

:wall: I changed diplomacy settings in the game so that the factions would attack rebels first and expand and then take out each other, in any case now no one is at war with slaves when game begins and in the desc_strat it says all faction standings are at war with slaves, what did I do wrong do you think?

Now the factions just sit around doing nothing in the beginning, when they should be taking every rebel settlement next to them. France has a lot of rebel settlements nearby, on turn 22, they still haven't attacke one, nor has spain, portugal, denmark etc.

Here is what I did, in the desc_strat, on the pad everything looks placed correctly, I followed instructions, but I obviously screwed up somewhere.

last option: ask a friend or member to copy the descr_strat.txt and paste it into your imperial_campaign folder :wink:

hm, after looking around these cool mod threads, through some mods according my personal ideas, in my game not only that major factions attack rebels but sometimes slaves attack me ( Nothingam being sieged by rebels because i left 1 archer unit there), and as such they might attack other factions. that is playing at vh/vh.

as some suggests rebel agresion might be influenced by their wealth (!) & standings (?).

My tests r with england.
in descr_strat i have

in turn 71 i did try 2 times to take Brugge after Fr and HRE lost there each 2 packed armies. i lost - badly.
Brugge still rebel is full with all kind of troops at 3 bronze exp some at 1 silver. And buildings: port, abbey, market, etc.
on 1 island in mediterana got myself in front of a rebel citadel (!!!) heavy garrisoned. all in all this might put a strain on factions in gen but after some experiments i thing i got the value that makes me happy-puppy. lol

well down near the bottom of descr_strat r settings for slave factions. I changed as following:

I want a "masochistic" vh/vh :whip: thus besides some better standings with Popey ( ahem, meant Poop, auch , strike that: its "the Pope" ) as UK im almost immediately at war with Scots & Fr. till turn 20 the scots didnt attack being busy very hard to take dublin & Inverness both packed with rebels ( replenished each turn - creepy):charge:
even taking York was a challenge lost 1st time got it 2nd. heavy losses.

thus perhaps pre-setting some peace & war plus increasing (lol) love & hate might help, based that rebels r "fat" & "attractive" to major "suitors" as Fr , HRE etc those buggers will go for them as nuts.:viking:

wow those are some very aggressive settings, would definitely make for a difficult game once everyone starts ganging up on you. I think that after the patch comes out i will see what changes if any are made to diplomacy, try a campaign and see how hard it is. If its too easy then I will increase the diplomacy settings to make factions more aggressive in general and towards me. Right now I am surprised, playing as the scots england was a push over, one of their stacks rebeled and england used its forces to fight it, but they always fought it with less forces and lost all of their armies, all they really ended up with were generals, so they were pretty easy to beat. Perhaps the rebel settings should be reduced some as my provinces are in good order, but I always find a new rebel stack somewhere, this one had about 10 units next to inverness.

I find I am not fighting that much either, mostly just siege battles, so yup, after the patch comes I will see how it is and how diplomacy is, should make the game outstanding I hope.

sieged here as well. since my inability to muster enough forces to play aggressive. i was till turn 120 mostly on defence in fr. while i concentrated all my forces in north to fight the scots. the best part of all those settings , besides the incredible hard game-play in gen (imho) is that I fought HRE advanced troops, and mad M2TW scots (lol). and last but not least (absolutely) is that in my painful crusade i fought Janisary, Ottoman infantry etc. and being repelled (btw - i called the crusade, fr. Venice, HRE joined - we all got beaten vh ) i took that island west Acre. packet with cool Byzantine troops i had to seige it 8 turns last two turns being in negative balance... but now is getting better. thus , although a bit too "masochistic" so far "my" relations & other value's settings r giving me a serious & entertaining challenge.:whip:

M2TW is perhaps the best game i ever played.
