2006 Hall of Fame Modding Awards - please post your thoughts

I wanted to start this thread to start collecting thoughts on modding awards for this year's HoF, specifically in terms of whether people think that there was enough activity in MTW modding this year to give a field of candidates for nominations - and whether any categories should be dropped or new categories created.

HoF 2005 was all wrapped up by the end of the year, so I'd like to move relatively quickly on this - so don't delay in posting your thoughts!

Best MTW Mini Mod: I'm unsure of the title, but I guess I'll call it New Valour Bonus Regions - Manco Capac and others.

Also can I suggest that you post this in the Main Hall as this forum only gets infrequent visits.

Best RTW Total Conversion Mod: Europa Barbarorum/Troy Total War
Best RTW Mini Mod: BI Make all factions playable mod
Outstanding RTW Modder: Teleklos Archelaou
Best Modding Guide Writer: Myrddraal/Epistolary Richard (should he be able to win it for a second time)
Best Modding Tool Creator: GodsPetMonkey
Best Artist: PROMETHEUS
Most Promising Mod: Inca: Total War

This is not a nominations thread. This is a thread to discuss potential categories prior to nomination and specifically to determine whether there has been enough MTW modding activity this year to warrant specific MTW modding categories.

And it's here because I'm only looking after the modding awards.

Righto.

Well I'd say there is enough for the "Best MTW Mini Mod" and "Outstanding MTW Modder" awards. However, so I'm not sure about the "Best MTW Total Conversion Mod" award.

Yes I understand that, its just barely any people who still play MTW check this forum, they just forget this sub-fora is here I guess.

Well, I was only looking for the opinion of MTW modders at this time - and this appeared to be the best way to target them (as opposed to general MTW players who might get confused as to why I'm only talking about modding awards).

When we progress to nominations, this will all receive far wider coverage.

There is some activity here -

PMTW,
Age of Warlords,
NTW1 v7
Samurai mod

and other

Besides if I have a reason to believe I might be awarded this year I really have nothing against that...:laugh4:

Okay, so what about categories?

This is from last year - people happy with these or want to suggest alternatives or removals of some?

I think thats fine.

Fair enough to me too.

Hmm...this might be a longshot but how about "Best MTW AAR Writer"? You could nominate people from the ones who write in the Pics and History of Your Empires thread.

Non-modding awards will be handled by other moderators - I'm only organising the modding side of HoF.
