If you mod units etc - will it take effect in an old save game?
e.g i was thinking of modifying the disounted druzinha and dismounted boyar sons, to stop them being identical
if i did this and loaded up my current russian campaign would the changes appear or do you need to start a new campaign?

Save games will usually get broken if you remove units. I'm not certain about modifying or adding units. Try it  but remember to backup...

Hmmm...I've added, subtracted and edited units add it's never affected my save game. I guess I should have been more careful. I didn't think units themselves would affect the game.

the only thing i can think of that would stop a saved game from working would be removing units/buildings... everything else should be fine

At Cormaeg, what if a faction had already built a full stack of the unit you removed?

Hi Myrdraal! Gotta say, I've really enjoyed and benefitted from your contributions to these forums.
As to the unit edits and removals; I was generally just altering units of that particular faction that I was controlling in the savegame. However, the units I had removed were still there and functioned the same, I just could not replenish them. You see, the only way I removed them was by removing their recruitable from the edb file - I should have clarified.
So, in reality; the units were still in the game.
