How do you use "create_unit" cheat?
I am trying to use the create_unit cheat to give some units to the Turkish faction leader. He is currently outside Mosul about to be destroyed by the Mongols. Any way I can use create_unit to him directly? I know I could put units in Mosul, but I am afraid he is toast unless he gets some units directly to his Army...I am playing as HRE and want the Turkish faction leader alive long enough to work out an alliance against the Mongols but my diplomat is about 2 turns away...thanks in advance.

I believe that command doesn't exist in MTW2.
Re: How do you use "create_unit" cheat?
It does, but it's very hard to use properly. Using it to add units to a city garrison is easy, but it's rather hard sometimes to get a character name input the way the game can read it. I played around with the console commands right after I got the game, and on some characters I could do it and on some I can't. It works reliably on any character who only has one or two word names with no title (Robin, Evan Waterston, Giacomo Medici, etc) but any titles or additional words (Vasco de Gama, Erik the Merciless) and I can't get it to take. After reading what someone else posted here a while back, on some 3 word names you can do it by enclosing it in quotes and putting an underscore between the second and third word, but that still doesn't work with titles and descriptors. "Vasco de_Gama" worked fine, but "Erik the_Merciless" didn't.

I was going to chip in that putting your cursor on the character you want to add units to and substituting the phrase "this" for the name might work, but it doesn't, I just tested it.
Quillan, I think "Vasco de_Gama" worked fine because "de Gama" is actually a surname, not a title or descriptor... Could be wrong though. As for "Erik the Merciless", just putting "Erik" should work, don't include descriptors. I don't know/remember what happens when you have characters with the same names though.

Re: How do you use "create_unit" cheat?
Just create the troops in the nearest town, and walk them to the general in question using the "character_reset" cheat to give them infinite movement...
Re: How do you use "create_unit" cheat?
The issue there, Whacker, is that the character was born Erik Rolffson or something similar, and the game seems to keep track of the original name even though it no longer displays for you. I didn't even know about the "character_reset" cheat, so that's a new one. Most of the RTW console commands work in M2TW though, and without the original 1 use per play session limit they later removed in a patch.

I see what you mean now. Will try this out later in my current campaign, most of my english guys are just "Henry" or "Rufus" or whatever for the time being, with a few monikers. Will see what happens if I get them some titles.
