This Topic is more dear to me than many will ever know. Before Guns and modern technology everything was so simple, wars were won via skill not by bombs etc. (Though I do love playing computer games and I do not see myself being very entertained without one or a TV [alas what has become of this hedonistic society we call modernisation])

You know you are born in the wrong time period when you order your men to charge against heavily fortified trenches armed to the teeth with machine guns and the only protection they have is the clothes on their backs and a suspect quality helmet, and they are fighting in the Somme region.

yeah i often ponder this sort of thing myself.

I'm not sure i was born in the ideal time, though I cant really compare. I intend to spend a few years of my life in the Army, to see what its like. I'm quite good at history and I kind of know what it was like to fight back then. Notice "kind of"; the emotions are probably immpossible to reproduce.

When the only music you listen to is from the 60s and 70s.

When you really wish your home town still had a slave market....

When you practice your swordsmanship in the kitchen between chopping the onions and mincing the garlic... :embarassed:

You know that you are born in the right time period when you can live through your life without being forced to fight and die for the petty ambitions of some inbred monarch.

You know when you were born at the wrong time when you are forced to become a eunuch at birth. Or even worse, in later life.

When you design tanks, machine guns, cluster bombs, parachutes and an underwater breathing apparatus, but were born in the 15th century.

If you can't guess who that is, shame on you.
