You just have to wait the discovery of the fact that the world is round which should come toward the end of XV century.

All countries can go, but it takes a loooong time to get there. Eastern nations shouldn't even try. It is fun, though, once you get there. The battles are huge, plentiful and among the best. Go with Sword and Buckler men, Arquebusiers, Knights and good spearmen and you'll really have the feel of being a conquistadore!
