I see EB 0.8 installer puts (and even overwrites) some files in the RTW Data folder. I wonder if this is due to RTW's internal limitations or just a lack of developers' time.

The only thing that EB overwrites is the files for the loading bar in the vanilla folder, all else is files that have been renamed and thus will not affect your vanilla build (or anyother build).

Definitely not lack of time. RTW restrictions keep us from putting a handful of files in the -mod files. We do recommend keeping this on a build to itself, just for this reason.
