Err...people have the right to terminate a pregnancy for whatever reason up to the 24th week in Holland. It's up to the point of birth in the good ol' USA. I don't see where the moral outrage aimed at Holland should come from.

Because a couple of people are idiots that want perfect children ? You'll find those everywhere, I doubt they'd actually ask why you are having an abortion in the States, much less have plastic surgeons, social workers and whatnot try to talk you out of it.

Just because you have statistics on it doesn't mean it doesn't happen in other places.

No USA bashing intented, except, you really ought to allow third trimester abortions unless there are serious complications imho

In some states, not only do they not ask why, you're not legally allowed to ask why. As for your aside, did you mean we really ought not to allow 3rd trimester? Come on, Doc Bean, why do you want to enslave women? :whip: Why are you such a fascist, Christian-funda-nazi?

I read in the paper a few weeks ago that British campaigners want the last restrictions on abortion removed in Blighty (Why do we call it that). They want nurses to be able to administer the abortion pill. Walk in, walk out. All in your lunch break.

That doesn't mean I'm totally against abortion, but it shouldn't be about the woman, it should be about the child. If you are stupid enough to get yourself pregnant you should deal with the resulting consiquences (a baby.)

Gets it done early though.

I agree that abortions due to 'deformaties' in general are clearly wrong at late stages. But the issue is complex and messy at the best of times.

I'm just taking the piss, Doc Bean. According to the pro-abortion lobby, anybody that wouldn't willingly themselves perform an abortion in the 39th week because the baby's eye color was the wrong shade of blue is a Christian fundamentalist, hates freedom and hates women. We don't have much of a middle ground on this issue, you see, and neither side wants for extremism and fiery rhetoric.
