I have read some forum members' posts about Mongol expansion getting out of hand if not checked early on, which got me wondering: what's the furthest distance the Mongols have expanded in your campaign? Do Tell! :yes:
I am still saving for new computer and won't be able to play the game for another month or two ~:handball: so I have no experience to share, myself. :embarassed:

Ive never had any problems myself with the Mongals but the Timurids (the Mongals on steriods that come after them) in one campagins managed to expand from the holy lands to central France.
Holy Guacamole! To France? that's nasty.
In one alternative version of my current campaign, I let the Mongols roam freely and their territory reached from Jerusalem to Nuermberg. Nice.
In my Spanish game game they got all of Egypt, most of Turkey and 3 or 4 provinces (including Constantinople) west of the Bosphorus.
They probably peaked around 20 provinces.
Then I showed up to "check" them and took Alexandria, Cairo, Dongola, Gaza, Jerusalem and Acre from them. During this time the Timmys sacked all the cities on the way from Baghdad to Antioch leaving them rebel, and settled in Antioch
In my campaign as the Danes, the Mongols laid siege to Hamburg. I fought them off and then offered the settlement back to the HRE. The HRE accepted and were then quickly torn apart by the mongols. Ha Ha!

@Maxfu: All the way to Hamburg? That's some aggressive expansion there. What a really cool feature for a game.
It seems that the Mongols eventually settle down and start cranking out units, eh? I guess they make a fair bit of change tearing teh middle east to shreds when they first arrive....:sweatdrop:

Hmm, sounds promising. I'm currently in the late 1200's in my Venice campaign and although I've gotten a message saying the Mongol's have shown up, none have shown their faces at any of my borders (From France to Byzantium). Good thing too, being at war with Poland, the HRE, England and France is pretty stressful on the ol' army already without a bazillian stacks of mad mountain people arriving.
The Mongols made it to frankfurt in my sicilian capaign. However they made the mistake of attacking me.
I quickly drove them out of western europe before they tried to make peace. Then I took Jerusalem the turn after and then it was all game over.
Mongols came to the gates of Zagreb in my Spanish campaign..
They have all the Turkey, holy lands, the north east of Turkey, and I am neighbours with them from Africa..I have Tunis,they have Tripoli.
