A question about battle ending
This is a question from a man who is dying to get his hand on a copy of a game....(maybe on monday:2thumbsup: ).
A friend of mine has it for about 10 days now and he just told me something wierd...or maybe i got him wrong?
He told me that a battle is finished the second one side has startet to rout, that there is no more chasing the routing units and finishing them of.
Is this true?
Re: A question about battle ending
When an enemy's entire army routs, including the general, the battle is deemed over. However, you do get the option, if you're on the upside, to continue the fight and finish them off.
It works just the same way it did in RTW, I think. So don't worry, you'll still be able to trample the routing enemy with cavalry. :)
Re: A question about battle ending
You get a prompt asking you to either continue and rout chase or end battle.
I usually rout chase and then execute all prisoners.
Re: A question about battle ending
How about when your army routs.......do you wait and hope that one of your units stops routing before it reaches the end line or is it finished straight away...
Re: A question about battle ending
It's game over, man.
Don't worry, it doesn't happen often. If it ever turns into a general rout like that, the day is lost anyhow.
The ability to end battle once you rout all enemies is actually great in sieges as you can minimize casualties without letting the enemy get a chance to make it back to the town square.
