Battle map CTD - "Direct3D unit not found"

I'm playing as Romani and under siege by Qarthadastim 211 BC. When I try to sally out of the besieged city (Emporion) I receive a CTD on the battlemap in two situations:

1) The battle ends normally and I receive the battle status pop up message "Draw". I press the 'OK' button and the strategic map 'Loading Bar' completes normally. And that is when I receive the CTD.

2) The second situation is during the battle when it suddenly freezes, due to a sudden movement with the mouse. The only thing is to terminate 'Rome.exe'. The interessting thing is that in this situation my windows pause screen (forgot the english word for it) display the error message "Direct3D unit could not be found or created".


The CTD's appear with or without the script turned on, and I need to restart my PC in order to reload EB.
