Extract all folders to
Medieval II Total War/data/world/maps/Custom
remember to just get the contents of CGOS Maps folder,
you just want the folders inside of it not the CGOS Maps folder itself.

I was upset to see that, unlike rtw, your enemies need the same maps as you did. Or at least thast what my clanmates were telling me, it could be a lie where they just dont want to play with me :)
Well actually on rome it depended. If you just had got some coordinates of the campaign map and added to that map file, then only host needed it. However if its a custom map (for instance syrian flats/grassy flatlands is a custom one, not on campaign map) thats someones actually made, then everyone needed it.
I remember the annoying thing over at CWB when I ported Syrian Flats to BI (to avoid playing on the map where defenders pretty much a sure bet to win) the annoying thing was everybody had to port it. It was an easy process but people don't like to mess with their game files :no:
