When do I get to train Hellenistic Cataphracts, playing as AS? I've got 'Cataphract Reform 2' building markers in various towns, lost a FM against the Parthians, lost a battle or two against the Parthians, what else is required?

IIRC the Seleucids have cataphract reforms active from the beginning of the the game in 0.8.0.
Ah, but I can't really train them - that's why. In fact, they're nowhere available.
Maybe in Media? I'm playing as Baktria and Seleukids do throw cataphracts at me, although only after 235BC.
Nope.
Keep looking, they got to be somewhere. If the cataphract reforms aren't yet ingame and it took AI Seleukids 40 years to start recruiting them, I guess they are in some undeveloped province or you need a special building or something...
Straight answer: I have no idea.
:help:
I heard Seleucia has them in the highest MIC. Try saving then using "process_cq" in Seleucia to get the highest possible MIC, and see if they are on the highest level or something?
The cataphract reforms aren't enabled for 0.8.0. We hope to have them working in the next (non bug-fix) patch.
Oh, that explains... So, they're in no way available save for custom battles?
I think that Kull, as a placeholder, left them as recruitable in some provinces with a local MIC4 after the vanilla Marian event (i.e. after somebody builds a governors palace in Italy). Try Syria, Babylonia (and adjacent territories) or the original lands of the Baktrians.
I was about to ask on the forums about the very same thing when suddenly I was able to recruit cataphracts in Antioch. I had recently completed one full stack with the finest, hetaroi included, and when I was about to start the recruitment of my new army I noticed kataphracts were available. I have no idea what triggered this and I sadly do not remember the date.
The date will vary. I believe the Vanilla marian reforms are triggered when at any point an Imperial Palace is built within a region that has the "italy" hidden resource.
