Lesson Learned
I have a full stack getting ready to attack the poles with two generals in it. When almost in front of me pops up the polish heir all by himself, i think an easy kill. So when the fight begins i send in all my foot soldiers and keep all the cavalry in reserve.
My men meet up with the polish heir and proceed to whittle down his men. At this time i have 3 units of pikemen just about to enter the fray, their still heading towards the battle. For the heck of it i send in my two generals and on the way to the fight they go through these 3 units of pikemen and they end up killing one of my generals. None of his men, just the general himself. I was like, what the hell? I just couldn't believe it. Has this happened to anyone else? :wall:

Re: Lesson Learned
so your own pikemen killed one of your generals? that's messed up...
-
Re: Lesson Learned
Wow...that...blows:inquisitive:
Just...how the hell did that happen? It has never happened to me. Granted I have watched my Faction Leader, an eight star general, be taken out by PEASANTS!?
-
Re: Lesson Learned
Not sure why it happened, assuming it's a bug. If i had known that riding my general through his own troops would kill him i would of went around. Maybe those pikemen weren't getting paid enough and decided to take matters into their own hands? :laugh4:

Re: Lesson Learned
What the hell? Thats almost as wrong as 2 archers left shooting at your general and taking him out...
-
Re: Lesson Learned
I've had it happen in rome, so i believe you :P
Phalanx formation does that sometimes ;)
-
Re: Lesson Learned
Well I believe that the general would DESERVE to be taken out by his own troops if he charges into (or through) his own Phalanx...trust me...the troops are doing a service to teh genepool:laugh4:

Re: Lesson Learned
Maybe it's because he was named Ansehelm the Handsome. :beam: Too much with the looks and not enough on the brains.

Re: Lesson Learned
I once took out an enemy general with a cannon 10 seconds into the game :D its great when stuff like that happens.
-
Re: Lesson Learned
I once ordered my cavalry to charge in and run down some enemies that had been routed by my pikemen. Lost 4 whole units of gendarmes, talk about blue-on-blue incidents...
-
Re: Lesson Learned
Had any of the Pikemen in those armies had any contact with mystorious people or been disapearing a lot lately, my guess is that at least one of the them was bribed
In all seriousness though, wow that sucks though I might want to take note since I do a lot of stuff like that myself.

Re: Lesson Learned
I think it is perfectly reasonble. I had half a unit of English Knights drop dead while chasing routers trough pikes that my longbowman place. :furious3:
-
Re: Lesson Learned
The pikes laid down by the longbowmen are meant to kill anyone. have your own pikemen though kill your cavalry just by running through them though was kind of odd. But very entertaining.:beam:
