Expanding on a great idea of TA, I figured I would start this off. Post within your greatest Kings, Generals, and Princes, and let all the world see their greatness and glory.

I'll get things rolling with one of the most famous Romans of the later 3rd century BCE, Caius Aurelius Cotta Africanus, two times Consul, conquerer of Africa, Hammer of the Gauls. This man literally made an entire lifetime of serving the Republic, and fighting Carthaginian pirates and raiders.

My finest general ever seen in EB, and a status update from my latest roman campaign. I've given each faction I want to succeed at least a million mnai, but only the sarmatians took off on their own.

That's a long list for such a short time raso, good job.

I will post a picture of my Basilus in the future, my favourite general and (to be) conquer of Egypt! He's not my best, but I think he is amazing. He still goes conquering with one stiff leg and one wooden one :san_grin:

Selfishness is not a bad trait k_raso. It has it's advantages. For example my un-selfish general became a restless sleeper after exterminating Alexandria. A selfish general would not have got that trait.

Heh--how is yours better, K_Raso? Look at his management compared to mine- Caius Aurelius is a renaissance man--war, finance, greek poetry, he does it all! (And he did get a couple extra stars before he died, if thats what you mean!) hahaha

Yeah, I`ve noticed that. That`s why I usually use that general for exterminating some problematic settlements. But I don`t like a selfish general for his vices.

@Zaknafien, LOL, I was just kidding :grin: . In fact, our generals are almost identical. They differ only in managment skills, on which yours is much better, and also in refining and art. But mine`s a Patricius, and a true roman from head to toe. And true romans of the 3rd century aint refined... :grin:

The only thing I truly don`t like about yours, is that he`s infertile. (A discret silence about this matter is in order BTW :rolleyes: :grin: )

About stars, mine got to the 10 stars right now (On the battle for Tolosa), later on I`ll post a screenshot of him :rtwyes: .

That's awesome. One of the smartest things I've seen the AI do.

And you know to kill a faction leader with those stats, he had to have a like 1% chance of success.

Happened to me too once. I had a huge army heading for Rome with me Faction leader. One turn and those bloody romans assasinated them!

I had contradictory feelings. Like anger, because I suddenly lost my greatest general (and actualy he was my ultimate best general, because I used him for every single battle, so all my other generals, even though very capable, are noobs.).

I also lost a consul and that has to bother you.

And I lost the guy with which I was going to conquer Iberia... so suddenly, my consular army... had no consul. :shout:

On the other hand, I was amused that the AI made such a good move. Kinda reminded me when Hasdrubal the Fair was killed with his lover on his own bed. :grin:

Well, I think that the AI totally Pwned me this time.

Let that be a lesson, always keep some agents attached to your most necessary generals. Nice move by the AI!

Would that have mattered? I thought the minimum was a 1% chance for assasination (at worst, regardless), or does attaching a spy make the odds "1%", optimistically speaking?

True, it might not have made much difference. But there are a number of traits he had that may have decreased security. Better safe than sorry, anyway, I always add at least one spy and assassin to my most important stacks.

Yes people, you're men may be better, but they are all old and will be dead within under twenty years. He has at least another thirty before he goes. Within (at least) five/six years he will be even better as he will have had an education at the huge academy of Alexandria while he manages the place while I install governments.

how many of these command stars come from attacking small rebels floating around your settlements and what difficulties are the games you're in?

skuzzy, always play EB on VH/M settings.

I find initial stars usually come from defeating rebels/brigands with small armies, but the others just come over time from fighting --lots-- of battles, with large numbers of troops.

That's strange, my man has faught about fourty battles and has not moved off two command star since his third.

Forging generals is one of my biggest hobbies within the game and here is my addition.

It's the year 229BC or something and I imagine he will die during his next planned campaign. He has done much though. He's responsible for pretty much all of the expansion beyond modern day greece and also he's responsible for many, many destroyed roman full stacks. Too bad his offspring is incompetent, but fortunately there's a 2nd branch of royal makedonians who now will inherit the throne. More about that below.

This is my latest addition and he looks very promising indeed. When attacking he's full-star. He's only 23 years old but already a more solid commander than the current faction leader. I can only hope he's offspring follows their fathers footstep.

They lok good, but neither of them would have anything in a settelment.

Doesn't matter. Neither of them is ever in a settlement besides when retraining the troops and massacring the local citizens of a newly captured province. ;)

This is my main man. He's the conqueror of sicily, west africa, spain, and italy. He and his super high exp army is pretty much unstoppable. Just finished from kicking the romans from italy, their last armies wisely retreated last turn. Thinking of letting him either live out his life back at Kart-Hadast *or possible Roma* in glory and honour, or have him pursue the romans north. How he has the hesitant attacker trait is a puzzle to me. Same with the Anti-Barcid trait, you think taking Spain, Sicily, and Italy overrides taking Africa, but go figure. *My general who took britian/ireland also has the anti-barcid trait, which is pretty ironic sense the most he's been in africa was 2 years and the rest of his life has been in spain and britian.*
