Is there a turn limit on long campaigns?
If so, what is it? I am currently playing a Spanish game, and I am at turn 160 or so. When I open my faction overview there is something that says: Turns left - 71 Territories nescessary - 45 Territories controlled - 13.
So as you can see I can be alarmed because I really feel I have only just started and to capture all 45 territories then I am going to have to hurry up!
Someone please tell me that the "turns left" is to do with something else?
Re: Is there a turn limit on long campaigns?
No, it is not. Sorry, but I think you can play past that should you wish.
Re: Is there a turn limit on long campaigns?
You shouldn't have any problem achieving 45 territories within the time limit (for most of my campaigns i average just below one per turn)
Re: Is there a turn limit on long campaigns?
I like teching up so ive never actually finished a campaign (1 short, was the Scipii)
you can play past the end, you just cant win, and there are no more historical things. I think you can play until 1968
Re: Is there a turn limit on long campaigns?
as far as i know there is no limit as such to when u can play to. im pretty sure u could play till the year 3000!!!! if u really wanted. however historical events end with the last turn (im not sure exact year cos i changed mine lol).
I like turtling and my initial thoughts was to change the turn ration to 0.5 for both realism and to give myself plenty of time. However after playing a full scottish camp, and not even seeing the arrival of the mongols, i have decided to go back to 2.0 turn ratio but moved the finish date to like 1900.
SO in summary, yes u have like 70 turns left to WIN your camp, but even if u dont win, u can keep playing for as long as u like ( i think). if u feel the time allotted i would suggest, making the end date much later, rather than adjusting the time ratio, cos if u adjust the time ratio u get none of the historic events. but i guess its up to u.
Cheers Knoddy
Re: Is there a turn limit on long campaigns?
I've changed the time ratio from 2.0 to 1.0 and so far I been getting all the historical events. What events does one not get when changing the time ratio? :inquisitive:
Re: Is there a turn limit on long campaigns?
You get them all they just take a lot more turns to happen, because they are based on amount of years from the start that they happen, not turns. You can alter when they happen in the events file though to make up for this.
