Favourite Crisp Flavours
Hello every frontroomer,
Just wondering what your favourite crisp flavours were.
I personally prefer something a little more adventurous than the regular selections that you find in Walkers. That is why I like Sage and Onion stuffing flavour. Very strange taste, but very satisfying.
Happy New Year,
Avlvs
P.S There was no space in the poll to allow a :gah: option.

I like trans fat and acrylamide flavor best

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
Yoghurt and prawn coctail flavoured crisps???!!! This is the First Sign of the Apocalypse....

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
I've always had a certain liking for Prawn Cocktail. Other than that I'm not particularly a fan of crisps, whatever the flavour. They tend to make me gag. :inquisitive:

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
I would have to say that prawn cocktail and cheese and onion are the best on the list, however my personal favourite is the mint and roast lamb. Delicious. Honourable mentions also go to ketchup, barbecue and Worcester Sauce.

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
Sourcream and onion flavour.
-
Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
Ah, I did not notice Worcestershire sauce! That's the chap for me...
-
Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
I have never understood what it is with all those different flavours (especially in England). I mean, Cheese and Onion, Ketchup...common!
My favourite would have to be Ready Salted and Other (Paprika).

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
Oh! You mean potato chips.
I'm surprised and disappointed that Sour Cream and Onion isn't there. But then again, maybe they do things differently "over there." :shifty:

I could never had put it better. I would have to vote for spicy chilli, beacause it sounds the best. Also, beacause I dip my chips in chilli half the time anyway.

Crisps are called crisps because they are crisp.
Potato chips are called chips because they're chipped potatoes, and properly made, are deep and soft with a crunchy exterior.
The latter designation also frees the national vegetable recipe from any assocation or sovereignty that may be advanced by the unfortunate term "French fries".
This means that when the neighbours get uppity, the British don't have to go through linguistic gyrations like "freedom fries". Chips remain chips.
:bounce:
Oh, and Cheese and Onion.

Potato chips, contrary to any and all Imperial British suggestions, are not deep and soft with a crunchy exterior; they are very thin, very crunchy and come in bags with the words "Potato Chips" written across the front.

Crisps, if one is to apply colloquial yet anachronistic across-the-pond terminology, are crackers.
There is one and only one type of potato chip - BBQ!
All else are but feminizations of a masculine spudacious endeavor.

:laugh4:
i read that chips/crisps were made by an indian cook who had an english customer whining about the size of his patotoes... so the cook got angrty and chopped the patotoes so thin and fried them that they all got crispy....
some say he was my ancestor... so i guess... I OWN ALL CHIPS/CRISPS COMPANIES!!!!

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
Salt and vinegar ftw.
And it's crisps, not 'potato chips'. Banquo's explanation hit the nail on the head.
Crisps and chips are entirely different things.

Sorry, but I'm English. In England chips are these:

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
BBQ is the best you can get from the mainstream chip makers. Fortunately for me, I live in Virginia, home of the Route 11 chip company. They make a wide variety of flavors (including chips from sweet potatos), but the ruler of them all is Mama Zuma's Revenge Habanero potato chips. Spicy! :2thumbsup:

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
That doesn't make sense. Since when were chips large and stick-like?
Non-potato chips:

See? Thinly sliced, not elongated.
Additionally, both thinly sliced fried potatos and long, thick fried potatos are "crisp" when referring to their texture.
The defense rests, your honor. :shifty:

What came first: the American variant of English or the English variant of English :smug:

The only way to solve this problem to exterminate the whole population of North America, except Texas.

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
Nah, let's turn them all into early Cybermen, that would be evil
Anyway, let's get back to topic people before we get a closure.

I used to like Paprika crisps/potato chips until the wife banned me from eating them due to how they made my breath smell "awful".

Thats a much better idea, because you program them to say "crisps".

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
Cheddar and Sour Cream, especially Ruffles brand. BBQ with a close second.
Now what the hell is this fancy flavor bs? Tomato and Basil? Parsnip? Yogurt?

Parsip flavour crisps are not actually parsnip flavoured: they are made of parsnip.

and BBQ is my favourite, though that is about as exotic a chip flavour you can get here, though they have brought in Green Onion recently, but I still prefer BBQ. :2thumbsup:

Re: Favourite Crisp Flavours
Re: the argument over the naming convention.
Since they were invented here in the US, we can call them whatever we want. You Brits can call them crisps, hufnagels, tutus, whatever, but as the inventors we have the right to use our terminology without hassle.
And The Stranger has it correct:
