Getai Units

I was wondering if there was anything planned on replace/improving the Getai bodyguard unit, because the greek general guard doesn't seem right for them.

Thorakitai Stratiotai's secondary weapon is falx, but doesn't get the ap bonus for it. Getikoi Stratiotai has the same secondary weapon, and does get the ap bonus. Komatai also use a falx, but don't get the ap bonus either.

Getikoi Hippotoxotai have a rather high meele attack of 11, while it's not ap it still seems rather high for some guy on a horse with a small knife. As a matter of fact, this goes for all the other horse archers who's secondary weapon is that little dagger. That's the same sword damage as Hypaspistai, who should be able to do a lot more damage with a blade then any poor horse archer.

Komatai Sphendonitai don't get the ap bonus like celtic or greek slingers. Is this to show the getai didn't really like/weren't good with it and loved/owned with the bow more?

Thraikioi Peltastai have as big a shield as Thorakitai Stratiotai/Getikoi Stratiotai, but the vaule on their's is much lower, 2 to 5. Was this for balancing or was their shield really weak or something?

2. That'll be corrected in the next patch. I just checked to make sure.

3. This is purely a stats question, so perhaps a stat-member will weigh in. I would guess its a balance decision.

4. I would guess you are probably right. However, it is a stats question, so I can ask it along with the others. Bowmen are supposed to be more common in Getic armies, so this may have been a strategy toward acheiving that.

5. That's mostly related to phalanx formation, though their shield is slightly smaller.

It's the type of projectile I think. Lead bullets will pierce armour, while rocks will probably only do concussive damage.

2. It's not a falx, it's a Dacian sica. Sicas don't get the AP bonus.

3. Knives do get a high melee attack but they have extremely low lethality (0.4)

4. If they use stone or lead bullets then they should have the ap attribute, if they use clay bullets then no. I'm not sure what they use.

5. We give phalanx units shield bonuses.

3. Isn't .4 very high for lethality? Do you mean .04? Their current lethality stat is 0.1.

Surely rocks are easier to get hold of (you can just pick them off the ground, and theres no need to cook them) and not as likely to shatter on impact with any kind of armour, dissipating the force that way rather than by damaging the armour.
What were the advantages of using clay?

I'm slightly ignorant on this, but you'd need to find a perfectly shaped rock to have any accuracy, I guess. Also, they might tear the sling.

They did indeed. It was easier to get unifrom size and weight out of clay bullets than stone, also they expolded on impact, kind of like an early version of a shrapnel weapon.

It might not be exactly what you expect as I only limited myself to altering the skin, though.

For the rest of issues you speak about I haven't looked that close and I don't really give a sh. about what skills they have and don't have, as long as the units look good and as long as I know it's just v0,8.
