Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
I'm not sure but it might be possible to give characters traits via the console screen. Open it with the ~ key, not sure what commands you would type though.
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
You can easily edit the descr_strat.txt file to change one of the starter generals, if you are starting a new campaign.
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
Is there an easier way? It'd be kinda fun to change each new leader's name. For example the first faction leader name changed to King Skott I, then the next guy in line has his name changed to Skott II, and then the next Skott III, etc., etc., Kinda like how the new Pope's take a new name upon being elected in real life. It'd be fun in a vain way to do that without going into the description files. :egypt:
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
yeah
I sreally hope that I can name one genreal after me and give him the traits and retinues I will.....
I think after that much hour playing Total War I deservbe it...
to have a little fun
:help:
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
All names must be in the proper files.
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
Yeah, I remember when my friend turned my general into "secretly female" "untouched by fear" "insane" "physically flawless" and several other traits from the console.
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
Can someone help me with console commands? I know what they are all, and I've looked in the files to get the right codes, but I can't get them to work on a character with a first and last name, and I really want to remove that she-male from my king.
For instance, say I put in a code like this:
give_trait "Slappy Awesomedude" "the_trait's_identifier" #
It returns that with:
"character not found"
. . . even though i'm currently looking at Slappy Awesomedude's character card. It works with single-named characters (like "Rufus"), but not with any others. What am I don't wrong?
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
click on the general (outside of a town) and use the command 'give_trait this "whatever"
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
Thanks. That was really annoying me.

Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
sry for dbl post...... but I cant edit my posts :(
So I only now need to find out how to rename my general and give him retinues...
Does anyone know how to add retinues?? :help:
And where is this descr you all are talking about, which I need to edit to change my starter general??? and what when he dies :(
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
Retinue = ancillaries.
E.g. "remove_ancillary this pagan_magician" gets rid of the Pagan Magician .
Use the unpacker and check the data files for the list of all ancillaries.

Has anyone given a general all these traits? I'm curious how he'd perform. It'd be amusing to see I'm thinking. :laugh4:
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
can i make a general not die of old age?
Re: Make my own general? Is it possible??
What about changing the family trees? I would like to add Robert Guiscard to Sicily.
