A Song of Ice & Fire to be made as HBO series
I know there are some GRR Martin fans here; at least one mod goes by the name of Ser Clegane. For all of you that are interested, it was announced yesterday that HBO has optioned the TV and film rights to Martins series, A Song of Ice & Fire. The tentative plan is to do each book as one season. The author's announcement can be found here:

Is A feast for the crows out yet ? I love the books, but I never seem to able to finish them in one go, I've been reading book 3 for about a year now...

Thanks for the news, Quillan - this sounds excellent.
Considering the setup (HBO, strong involvement of GRRM, GRRM's previous TV-experience) I am quite optimistic that this might lead to a great series (in case the final go-ahead is given).

A Feast for Crows has been published quite a while ago, the next installment, [i]A Dance With Dragons[/ii] is apparently close to be finalized ~:)

BTW, I think they should try to get Nikolai Valuev to play "The Mountain that Rides"
