Doing Some modding.....something went horribly wrong!

OK, I did map change, Spurius Big map.

Got 194 provinces, all works well. now I test it out, goes lovely lovely ....

But I started playing, and i was just auto resolving battles, as i tend to do with changes.
Anyway, got carried away, got through like 120 years, so 240 turns.

I thought, heck frenchies want my province, making all sorts of threats, i told them what they could do with it, so they turn up with a full stack, i bring up Prince Ansell, and think to myself, man he's got like templar knights from HQ guild, and Foot Knights at full strenght, max Longbow, i will play this out....


So I press my battle button.....

loads up slowly........
Then just opens to Deployment Screen, not fully open and CTD.

And this is all i have on my log file

20:18:34.875 [system.rpt] [error] Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.


Anyone any suggestions to what if could be?

Ok after some testing, i think my it could be my modeldb file :furious3:


And i can't find where i put the orginal :beam:

Rule of thumb: when you start modding always use a different installation.

You can copy all the game directory to a new one, ready to be modded, and it will work. So in case you delete a file by accident you always have a working copy in the original directory.

In any case you can get a clean modeldb file unpacking one of the pack files of the game.

It should be much easier to edit in notepad than the
original.~:)

I did fix my prob, it was the modedb. :dizzy2:
