It is multichoice so you can select Gah! and still cast a meaningful vote. :)

I have put all the names offered up by the members into the list... to do otherwise wiould be circumventing the voting process and probably offend some members.

Of course, if you prefer, I could just pick a name that I prefer... :laugh4:

The poll title asks for A name for this forum

That is ONE name so the vote should be for One and not Multiple.

What is the reason for giving a second or third choice vote for a name?

There are 13 Options.

Each member interested should cast a vote and the name with the highest number of votes is the final choice. That is democratic.

Casting mutiple choice votes in a poll makes a mockery of the voting system.

It will only be a problem if, at the closing of the poll, there are two nominations with an equal number of votes.

If that happens then it will be my problem to sort out the most preferred choice.

In the event of two or more nominations with the same number of votes at the close of the poll, then surely, those nominations would be put up for a second, deciding poll.
Meaning, only those would then be voted on.

All the other nominations with lesser votes in the first poll would be deemed defeated.

A fair way of deciding.

Another way would be to ask the members that voted twice to specify which was their first choice and to see if that put one nomination ahead of the other.

We'll find out when the poll closes if it is problem or not.
