In my current Scots campaign, I'm at 1534 AD. Turns left has been set at 0 for the last couple of turns. I can't see the victory video, even though I'm the leading faction. I checked descr_strat, end game is set at 1530, I've not modded anything at all.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
EDIT: I had a little problem when installing, a message popped up saying couldn't recognise some file, or something like that, I clicked ignore to get the installation to continue.
If you didn't satisfy the victory conditions, you didn't win.
As soon as you satisfy the victory conditions you win, even if it's only 30 turns into the game. You don't have to wait till 1530 to get it, you get it as soon as you win.
I know, my games run on to the end anyway, but overall I am the leading faction. My point was that now that its been 1530 and I was winning, should I not have got the victory video, with the campaing coming to an end, rather than going on to 1534 and beyond?
You don't get the loss video unless the AI wins (good luck with that).
It's not a win if you didn't fulfill the victory conditions, and it's not a loss if one of the AI factions didn't fulfill their victory conditions. Ergo, it's a draw, and the game doesn't have a draw video.
OK, but why isn't the game ending at 1530?
I don't believe the game ever ends. You can keep going even if you've won or lost. The victory videos are really nothing all that special. If you've made it to 45 territories, there's not much doubt you could take over the world.
In my first campaign, I kept on going to conquer the new world and fight the Timurids. But mostly victory is just a good stopping point. It's more fun to stop and try a new faction.
Whatever you enjoy is OK.
The game doesn't end at that time, that time is only the victory condition deadline. You can keep playing as long as you want and whenever you meet the victory conditions, you will get the victory video, even if it is after 1530.Quote:
