TUT:How to play EB with Alexander.exe

Hi folks, just thought I'd post for those who bothered to buy the Alexander expak.(I "acquired" it a different way, but I cant say how.:laugh4: ) Anyway I just found out how to use the RomeTW-ALX.exe with EB.
Basically it's the same method as with BI EXCEPT, you have to go into the Alexander/data folder and copy the "chat_filter.san" file into the EB/data folder. Pretty easy and I though some folks would like to use their Alex download for SOMETHING.
Now, I haven't seen any immediate changes other than possibly the battle torny feature. But I'll start some tests later and see how things work with this exe.

I wouldn't say Alexander is entirely useless. The LOTR mod is putting use to it .

is there any useful additions to AI in Alexander... or basically ANYTHING positive about that expansion?

What version number is Alexander, actually? Does it have some of the BI stuff, i.e. shield walls and hordes?

I saw it in a bargain bin somewhere over here, but BI is no longer to be found.

Alex exe is 1.5 exe with improved diplomacy slider (-600 IS unbreakable alliance), the display years as turns setting and special characters with unique models.
BI formations won't work so in my eyes is next to useless...

Perhaps you just need to buy RTW Gold, at a price of 10 euro's. And Alexander for half of that. Those two are found easily enough.

Well It does suck that BI formations won't work but I have noticed that the AI builds bigger armies with better units in them.(Atleast the Celtic and Roman factions do, all the Hellenics build crap sofar.)
