Generals with learning disabilities.
For whatever reason, I absolutely cannot get my generals above about two command stars.
If I autoresolve a battle that's 1:1 or worse odds and win (a ridiculously rare occurrence even on VH:M -- 1:1 apparently means 1[quadiplegic]:1[gaesatae]) nothing happens, though he might lose the "unsure troops" trait or something similar. If I play out a battle and win, even against huge odds, the generals learn nothing whatsoever.
So what am I missing here?
Re: Generals with learning disabilities.
The point that command stars don't mean really much, EB traits have much more impact on your general's skill.
Re: Generals with learning disabilities.
I really dont know what stars good for. Other then autoresolve.
you are the one that decide battles
Re: Generals with learning disabilities.
Yes but it's so much nicer to see generals with a huge stack of stars on strat map :laugh4:
A thought : if command points are so worthless, couldn't the same trait that gives morale points to general also give command ones ?
Cause you know, it's so much simpler to distinguish the good generals by looking at the stars...
Re: Generals with learning disabilities.
But the point is that command stars only affect the army within a certain area around your general, and that command traits affect the army as a whole.
Re: Generals with learning disabilities.
Units will start of with low moral if the general iz (is) crap?

No, they will start with their base morale. However, if the general has a lot of Negative Morale things, then yes, they will have crap morale.
Re: Generals with learning disabilities.
According to http://rometw.120host.net/2006/10/27...-care-thereof/ command stars give a bonus to attack strength, perhaps only to close units. CA thought to have them only affect morale, but decided against it at some point.
