A Land to Conquer - A Fourth Age(TM): Total War AAR

This is my AAR for Fourth Age Total War, following the story of the Kingdom of the Reunited Kingdom, and in battles I shall do like a story, on the campagin side I will do a overview. I will have pictures later on.

North of Minas Tirith

Snow fell from the mountains, the great white city of Minas tirith stood behind F Company. The ground gave way as hundreds of Gondorian Soldiers trudged forward. Far ahead were harsh shouts, a horrible language, the language of the Orcs. There ahead of them stood a host, rabble, of Orcs. F Companies Commander surveyed the land,
'At least theres no Trolls' thought F Companies General, many Swordsmen were thinking that as well. Behind them stood the plains of Minas Tirith as well, where over a century ago fought the battle of pellonar Plains, as the fate of Gondor,Rohan and the forces of good were decided. Once again the Orcs started shouting. F Comapny General thrust his sword forward,
"Move Forward, skirmish when needed!" he yelled, F Comapny was a lower class company, only Companies A, B and C were able have a full stack of Kings Men, this soldiers of F Comapny were simple peasents, but were still well trained. And there was the legendary knights of Dol Amorth, in there shining blue armour, facing grave odds. The orcs were within firing range,
"load the Bows!"yelled he, the Archers pulled and notched there arrows, aiming for the host of Orcs.
"Fire!" there was a twing, and arrows flew through the snow cloded sky. there was several shouts of Pain, as some Orcs were hit. These Orcs were diffrent from the ones of Mordor, and Isengard, they came from the northern lands of Rhun, where the Riders of the mark had to deal with them, Gondor had to only put up with the Harad Empire and Easterlings. The general shvered with fear, remembering the Mumakil. the orcs started running, there cruies harsher and better heard, there swords drawn in the air, the started yelling war cries, the Gondorian Soldiers put up there shields and-
The two lines met, F Comapny general yelled a war cry, and charged back to his company of knights, where he readied to charge if needed. meanwhile in the lines, stood a 18 year old boy, a Gondorain Kings Spearmen,called Bill(not Gondorian) he had been lucky to make it into the kings Spearmen, and he was still a trainee. But now to the battle. A short Orc jumped forward, Bill swiped his sword, and cut off its head. the Orc fell forward, only to be replaced with another. Bill stepped over it, and chopped another 5 Orcs. it seemed the gondorains were easily winning, a orc nearby yelled something, and the Orcs retreated, running as fast as there orcish legs would let them. Bill looked up relieved, to find a Troll, standing there. how come they couldn't see it before? Bill wondered, the Trol roared, it had a club, and simple crude armour. if it was a Mountain Troll, they were doomed. it stomped forward, running, they ground shook underneath it. it attacked the Spearmen platoon nearby, there was shouts as 20 men were thrown inot the air, the troll killing them, they landed nearby, slamming with a un natraul thud. the troll stepped on a soldier, he screamed before killed, it stopped forward, crushing more soldiers with its club. until it was neaer Bill. there was a clapping of steel, and the troll smashed its club onto Bill, killing him instantly.

The Genral was watching, a the Troll gruemsly killed a young 18 year boy, the general raised his sword,
"Charge, For the Kingdom of Gondor!!" he yelled. the others cheered along with him, they charge forward, and the troll turned. its first hit, and at once over 30 guys were down. it kicked out, killing the Generals horse, the ROcs were back in the fight, hacking down the Gondorians. The general tried to get back up, but in a instant a orc bit him, killing him at once.


the Battle was lost, and it was obvious that the Powers of Evil were rising agan, Orcs, Troll and Easterligns roaming near Minas Tirith?

Introduction

The Kingdom of the Reunited kingdom made up two Nations, Gondor and Dol Amorth. both of These nations detoroyed Saroun and the Forces of Mordor years ago, along with the help of elves,dwarves,the Kingdom of Rohan and some unfortunate Hobbits, soon after the massive battle of pellanor Fields, and sonn after Saroun was defeated at the battle of Barad Dur, Aragon, next King in line for the Throne of Gondor, ruled. He ruled wisely, and a Golden Age came, but soon before he died, new troubles arose. The forces of harad finally recovered after the defeat of Saroun and There army, the forces of RHun wanted revenge, and Rohan was angry at Gondor for some reason. King Aragon died, but his sons and Grand Sons had to deal with new threats. then in teh Fourth Age, in the 4th Century, Orcs and other menaces arose, joining forces with a new enemy, the Dundenlings, now Middle Earth was plunged into war again, but before that, several things happened. Dol Amorth and several small kingdoms joined the kingdom of GOndor, forming the Reunited Kingdom. Rohan got angry at the Reunited kingdom again, and started raising armies, and the Haradrians attacked a outer rebel town, which used to be controlled by The Reunited kingdom, and the Rhun attacked near Minas Tirith (Reunited kingdom Capital) A new age, a new trouble, a new war, with new nations, who shall win???

Aldarion Telcontar - king of Reunited kingdom, always has studied the History of the War of the Ring, and always aspired to be a king like Aragon. Behind his back alson known as Greybeard, he posses the Sword of kings, Anduril.

The Heir of the Reunited kingdom:

Cemendur - heir to the Reunited kingdom, his heirtage unknown, as he is no one in line of the Royal Family, but people know one thing (Although he wears a disguise) he is an elf from Mirkwood, and a good archer, he inspires the people and soldiers. but many think he should not rule, and want the Crown themsleves.


Baren - One of Cemendur's RIvials, he is Greedy, and wants the Reunited kingdom Crown for himself, many support him secreatly. Thoug he also hates mirkwood ELves, and wnats to see Cemedur dead, so he is next in Line.


Berun - The Brother of Baren, the most loyal of loyal to the king, and serves well. he has won many battles, and has not spoken to Baren for years. Doesn't mind Cemunder becoming King, and encourages him a lot.




The Kingdom Facts

The kingdom currently streches from the Western Sea to the old Areas of what used to be mordor. They own the port where the High Elves left in Third Age, and have not touched the remains of the Tower of Barad Dur, the tower in which the Eye of Mordor used to be, and where Saron used to be. There experinced in Foot Soldiers, and the Knights of DOl AMorth are one of the Best Trained in the world, second only to the Riders of the Mark and the GIants Elephants of the Harad. There are many plots to control the Crown, and many want Cemendur dead, and amny want the Harad to rule. Rohan is using the old fort of Helms Deep again, and Isengard is under control of the orcs. Although the Reunited kigdom still owns Minas Tirith and the Giant STatues guarding the old kingdom of Gondor. The Twoers of the White Mountains still stands, also deep inside the Forests. The Dwarves roam around, around the Iron Moutains, but many have fled to Gondor and ROhan for comfort and safety. the elves are still in Mirkwood and Gondor, but never touch Rohan for some reason.



The Clouds of War approach, and King Aladrion and his advisors gather...

"Sir" said one advisor, but he contrinued without waiting for the kigns reply, which was quite rude,
"Recently the F comapny was seriously shortened of Men when Rocs attacked them near minas Tirith, but they also say there was a troll" said he, a lot of voices were yelled out, as many advisos stated there disbelief of Trolls roaming near minas Tirith, let alone Orcs.

The kig quietened them down with a wave of his hand.

We need to discuss a few more importnat things, like the Rohan, and Harad forces down south" said the King. Many nodded, among tyhe council of the king, there was really only one or two loayal advisors. the rest would rather see the king dead then alive.

"I say we slaughter the ROhan!" yelled one, a roar of approval went up, but one voice cried out despreatly,
"And you reckon they'll let you you pig!?" yelled ht evoice, at once there was a cry, a pair of legs could be seen, and a fight was on. it was absurd really, was this what the council had come of? Fighting eachother and petty namecalling? In the days of ARagon they never did this!

During the rackeet the fighters were making the door opened and shut with out anyone noticing it. While the kign was rbbing his head, a person slipped up next to him.

"I have a suggestion sir" said the person, the kign looked up sharply, was it a assasain!!??? No, it wasn't, it was a main army commander, althoug he was quite young, his name was Berun.

"yes?" said the king,

"We attacke dhte small defencelss Outlaw village near Dol AMorth? only 200 defend it! said Berun, the King nodded. Berun nodded toward the council, and yelled out.

"by the order of the Tierd king, you are dismissed until next meeting, and a plan is set out, of which you shall not hear of" yelled Berun, he knew quite well that a lot of advisors would be very annoyed, and he was hoping for it, but also he was rooting out any traitors.

"Thankyou Berun, there just a pack of dogs" murmured the King,

"I agree more strongly then ever there sir" said Berun with a grim smile.



Meanwhile near Dol AMorth, where 21st Army was camped, several weeks after the disatoruous meeting.

The Captainw as standing there, when a messnger rode in.

"I come from the Chief Commander of the Reunited kingdom Forcs, berun, wtih news" said the messnger, the Captain nodded, and the messenger told him all that Berun had told him, and when he finsihed, the Captain nodded, and dismissed him. He muttered tom himself,

"one easy battle ahead, but hard times for Berun" he muttered....

I have had a bit of trouble with Imageshack, it doesn't seem to be loading my pictures, does anyone know another good Image Hosting website?

Imageshack has been doing that off and on for a while now. It's not just you. I personally use Photobucket, though they imposed a size restraint on images several months ago, so you can't display anything over 1024x768. That's not too bad, but it's worth being aware of.

Chapter 1


Near Dol Amorth



The soldiers stood in the afternoon sun, sweating in there armour. The Spears of the Kings Spearmen Units shone in the sky, the flags of the 3 units of Dol Amorth Fluttered, and the kings longbowmen streched there bows. This was war. From the Reunited kingdom Army it was made of a lot of cultures and units. There was 2 units of Gondorian Swordsmen, the king especially sent the army 4 kings units, the 4 Kings Units were Spearmen and longbowmen. The noble rulers of the city of Dol Amorth sent 3 units of Swordsmen, and 1 heavily Armourerd, Experinced Dol Amorth knights. There was the special units of Vale, longbowmen. The enemy was in the city which lay ahead. There was no walls, only buildings. In the middle was the Town Square, that was where the Captain guessed was most of the outlaw Army. On there side of the city (South East Side) they could see one unit of Gondor Miltia standing guard. The Captain turned to his new advisor, one of the knights of Dol AMorth,

"Wasn't Berun supposed to be here by now?" asked the captain, The Dol Amorthian nodded.
"Well? Is he here?" asked the Captain, the Flag Bearer for the Dol Amorth knights unit came over,
"We received a message by Eagle earlier that he had issues to attend to at Minas Tirith, he wishes you luck in the next battle" said the Flag Bearer,
"What issues!? Wash his hair or something!!??" said the Captain angryily.
"No, Rebels in The White City sir" there was a silence, then-
"rebels....? In Minas Tirith?..." muttered the Captain. he shook his head,
"We have to concentrate on this battle, to arms!!" yelled the Captain to the army.

Meanwhile at Minas Tirith...
Berun stood by the Eaglery, waiting for a reply from the Dol Amorthian Knight. it was on the 4th level of the White City, and recently he had discovered some of the advisors were not advisors at all. When he kept the King and his plan to himself, he told only the messnger, and then the captain found out. As soon as the Captain found out, an advisor let slip he knew as well. Which meant only a few things, either the advisor found out from the captain (Who would be a traitor) or he had other spies. Berun wanted to know what the Captains reaction would be. A dot appeared on the horizon, it was nearly night time here, and the sun set in the West, where the sea of Numeror would swallow it, thought Berun. During his time of thinking the eagle reached where he was standing, and gently nipped his hand. Berun realised it was there.

"Excellent, where have you come from? Are you Dol Amorthian?" asked Berun, it seemed he was talking to the bird, because there was no one else around. The bird cried,
"I thought so, I guess it would be afternoon by now?" the bird cried again, it seemed to understand Berun. Berun took the messgae it was holding, and spoke to the Eagle again,
"Now fly back to your Dol Amorthian Master, and tell him I wish him luck in the next battle" said Berun to the Eagle, and seemed to nod, and it took off. Berun read the messgae,

Dear Master Berun,
His reaction seemed to be of fake suprise, though I could not pick it. He then said to concentrate on the battle ahead, and never did a look of truimph cross his face. He seems no traitor, and i would say he was under toruture orders.

You should visit Dol Amorth again, your old training ground is still there, and we'd take you again, to train you of course.

Berun chuckled, he had indeed trained at Dol Amorth, and was awarded the honour of being knighted by the king himself, before Gondor and Dol Amorth united, and when they did he was knighted by the king of Reunited kingdom. He was a Knight of Dol Amorth and Gondor.
Now to the traitors.

back at the Battle of outlaws...

The army had nearly engaged the unit, there was 5 units of Swordsmen and Spearmen moving towards the Milita. The Captain watched from his Dol Amorthian Bodyguard, when he heard a squawk of a eagle. He looked up, a beautiful eagle flew towards the Flag Bearer, and it landed on his shoulder. the Flag Bearers mouth moved, and he laughed. Captain focused back on the battle. The units were now attacking the Miltia, and not one soldier of Gondor had been lost. All the soldiers of Dol Amorth were staying back, soon the Miltia was gone and the untis moved towards the city centre.

"All Army, attack!" yelled Captain, the Dol Amorthian knights charged forward, and the new Gondorian horsemen, as did the longbowmen and Dol Amorth FootSoldiers. The raced to the town square.

Soon they were in sight of the host of outlaws. The knights of Dol Amorth and Gondor readied there spears, the foot soldiers got there swords ready. Soon there was a splitting of air as hundreds of Blue Arrows whized over them. They all found a mark, hundreds of Enemy soldiers were killed in those few seconds. Several staggered, there was crying, men lay on the ground dead. And the Reunited kigndom Amry Charged, the two lines were opposite eachother, the two lines met. the Captain and his unit wheeled around to attack the Outlaw General, his bodyguard consitsted of Heavily Armoured Gondorian knights, who were exiles and outlaws. The Captain spurred on his horse, and he raised his sword, and cut into the enemy. He blocked one sword, wildly slashed out, he heard scremaing as his sword found flesh. he raised his shield to block another attack. the battle was chaos, no stratergy, no plan, just one messy battle.

Back at Minas Tirith....
Berun hid by the croner of a street, watching the late night traffic, which was none. Slowly but surely a figure appeared from a house. And the people who lived on this treet were only the kigns Advisors, nobles and relatives of Royals. And rich. As this street was the fifth level, the one below the Royal Sixth Level. But the person who had snuck outside was in fact a Advsiors. Berun knew what to do, this advisor wadn several others were in fact in league with the Empire of Harad. And thye were going to listen to the kings plans, unless Berun could stop them.

'I bet this is Baren's doign' thought Berun, cursing his evil brother. He hopped on a horse and rode as fast as he could up to the Sixth Level, and to where the Dol Amorthin Assasains waited.
"Excellent, there are 4 coming now, strike them all dead" commanded Berun.He watched from his post the 4 advisors and Assasins. One advisor quitely sneaked to the door way, but a knife flew out of the darkness, striking him dead. A Dol Amorthian came out of the darkness and heaved the body to the side of the tower, and threw him off. One advisor was strolling towards the kings HQ, when a foot went out and the Advisor tripped over the side of the tower, he screamed and screamed as he fell to his doom, ad landed with a thud 9 levels below. there was several voices as people heard the screams. the other two advisors tried to sneak home, but were both killed. Berun sighed, his job was done. he walked slowly away to the King.

Back at the Battle of outlaws...
All of the outlaws were dead, a line of injured GOndorains Knights walked back to camp. A Dol Amorthian kicked a corspe. Flies buzzed verywhere. Night was falling. The Flag of the Reunited kigndom was raised. Victory was these, although they lost an estimated 50 men. Captain rode his horse around the city, arousing villagers, feeding some. The army made camp in the city, as it was theres. The Captain was still alive, and he walked to the Dol AMorthian Flag Bearer,

"I want a messgae sent to Berun, here is it" said Captain, handing the Flag Bearer a scroll. The battle was won...





At the Outpost of Minas Tirith...
A guard strolled around the Guard post, he looked out. The Guard Post wasn't in Mins Tirth, it was in the plains far outside. the Guard looked at the White City, where moments before screams had been heard. He looked back out towards the nearby desert. he was startled, a fire was raging on the horizon, there was shadows of Giant Elephatns. The Guard called to his friends, who came as well, and the stared in amazement. Fires burning, outlines of beats un heard of for centuries. And several flags of teh Empire of Harad, were they invading? The guard sent a messga eto the kign at once, the resumed watching. This certianly was a new age...
