Re: Greetings and a Question
EB has a greater map and a script running in the background, amongst other things that are bigger and more of than in vanilla. Unfortunately, while this in my opinion creates a much better game, the game requires more resources. You can try to reduce video settings to speed up, as well as disabling any other programs/services you may have running in the background.
For the campaign map, also try disabling settlement and character names with Ctrl-T and Ctrl-N. For the battles, try using one of the smaller unit sizes.

Also with regard to running games on laptops-- make sure you have it plugged in to a power supply. Games generally run slower if using the battery.
Not sure if this is what is happening... best to be sure though.
And welcome. ~

Greetings!
Ram/graphics card? Also how much ram does your graphic card have? I fear it has a built-in graphics card which uses system ram. If that is the case, not a lot of things can be done, I am afraid.
Do defrag your hard drive in any case.

On the campaign map, it also helps a lot to turn off shadows.
