I beleive that it's an automatic process to get your men elected to the almighty office of consul. To check if anybody has got this high ranking office, all you have to do is search for the trait consul in a character's traits - this signifies that the man is consul - or the trait ex-consul which tells you that this man has been consul in the past. Also, they'll have to work their way up. They can't be elected consul if they just joined the senate. They need experience in other senatorial possisions.
Try that your men get as much "influence" as possible!!!!

Its been told many times afaik that command stars have been pretty much replaced by moral bonuses instead since command stars = only work around the general, moral bonuses = work for everybody all the time on the battlefield, plus I think it removes alot of the High command star+ low units defeating a horde of enemies on auto-resolveQuote:

Only the morale bonus of the command stars is given to the troops around your general, as you can see reading above.
In EB getting CS is not so difficult on Medium Battle difficulty, i experienced with the romans a general who got 10 CS, and another who got 9 now. You must fight a lot of battle every turn with the same genral, and try to pursue his objective: example, if he is a vanquisher of the Gauls, send him forever against every single unit of gauls you can see, if there is a stack of gauls of only 3 units, dont sent all your army, but just your general and a pair of units. It work well. Also collect retinues, and senate offices etc, hero bonuses etc...
also use a general who is Sharp/Carismatic/Vigourous...
EDIT: it could even depend on how you interprete that "under his command oon the battlefield" of the developer. A 10 CS with a lot of influence general get get an enourmus range of influence along the battlefield, and the troops get a +10 attack bonus (plus the morale bonuses)
We discussed this recently in this forum and the EB team said they work on the assumption that command stars do not give +1 attack. This is based on testing by therother in the Ludus Magna which could find no evidence of such an effect.Quote:

well, from my experience with EB and other mods, i tend for trusting it, recently in EB I had a general of 68 years old with 10 CS, well, i leave all the army in a town, and sent my general on campaign with just 4 mercs (gallic northern swordsmen), with no chevrons, no blacksmith upgrade, and it was an invincible army, the general bodyguard also tend to destroy everythink.Quote:

I think that the command stars do indeed give attack bonuses. I fought against some Saka Rauka guys lead by a guy with 10command, 9experienc, and 122 body guards. Every enemy unit on the map just murdered my army. With 10 additional attack (if it does indeed do that), it triples (or more) the power of most archers.

That's the epic battle I fought against an all cataphract army I mentioned in another thread.
I usually take pictures of units the first time I see them in battle, I'll show more later if you want.

I'm thinking those previews are pretty old, the units might be outdated. I had seem them a while back when they were released. Or maybe not. So I don't mind more shots of Marcus' campaign if there will be pics of them taken anyway. :2thumbsup:
