How to handle the UI for more then ~20 factions.

I mean, is there a chance for somebody to figure out, or has anybody already figured out how to add extra factions and also give them proper... icons inside the interface (during gameplay)? Yeah I mean those icons that are only in interface\stratpage_01.tga, stratpage_02.tga and so on... I only saw an unused saxon icon, and strangely formatted code in battle.sd, shared.sd, strategy.sd which may seem to handle this matter. Anybody got farther then me? I hope... I've just started with it anyway.

Well I figured the problem quite a while ago and actually made some headway into it, currently roy_d_merkel (with a little help of mine) is figuring out the rest, and we should have the sd files cracked pretty soon (there's only a few values we don't understand yet), although I'm not sure when a tool will be released to handle it.
Roy already successfully added a new icon to the campaign map, but the battles are still crashing.
