I really wish they would've kept the less cities thing from barbarian invasion
It was nice that in BI, there were only a few cities. That way it forced the game to have more epic and decisive field battles as well as made every siege and city more important.
Now you have all these sieges where sometimes there are like 4 units in a city. The computer doesn't want to face you in a field battle unless they have like overwhelming odds cuz they just turtle inside their cities. Sieges were fun for like the first three times, but afger that it's just so boring.
Need more field battles.

See I gotta disagree about the less cities, BUT I agree completely with the seigefest comment. I'd like to have both more cities to control AND more field battles, which is probably one of the reasons I love the Bigmap mod.

They need to fix the AI to make field battles occur more often. It should seek to avoid siege and meet your army outside unless it's grossly outnumbered. Siege are so easy right now for the attacker that they don't even help the defender anyway.
You can skip those small siege with only a few units defending with auto-resolve though.
