New Legions for Roma Surrectum
As many of you know (or will soon), one of the defining features of Roma Surrectum is that we have different skins for all of the historical legions, and it's time we share their unit cards with you.

As you might have noticed, some of the legions, especially the Imperial ones, look a bit different, even from each other. The reason for this is that symblos of luck or valo(u)r would be different in different places, leading to the different designs on the shields and banners. Also, their armo(u)r is different, because it was constructed with whatever material was plentiful nearby, not one standard material.
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
Aja, can I ask you a question?
Are these legions recruitable in the same campaign map or do they come as different skins that can be download-ed separately.Because keeping those recruitable on the campaign map....at the same time would require...let's say 7 model slots for vanilla 3 Roman Factions or 21! model slots for Unified Roma. You could always make some "regional legions" to trick the engine into allowing you extra slots but....
Nevertheless excellent job.
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
DVK would be the best to answer, but I think that each legion has its own DMB & EDU entry. Also note that Rome is unified in the mod, so there is only one Roman faction.

The Legions in Roma Surrectum use 70 slots. They not only have their own skins, but they also have their own individual banners. And yes, they are ALL recruitable, in various AOR's, in the same campaign...all 35 of them.

Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
Good idea. Same as in Imperator though.
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
Hm...I wasn't aware that Imperator had implemented a similar system...
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
Tell you what id like to see if possible in any mod is the ability to write a legions name above the head of the commander so when the armies move around theres a name above them such as II Legion Augusta or some such, and it doesnt matter what units move in or out as its above the commanders head.
as far as i can remember ive only seen this in one game...
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
To the best of my knowledge this isn't supported by the rtw game engine.
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
Say, HHHH, what game was that?
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
Yeah, I'd be interested to see if we could incorporate that in some way or another.
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
well the game i have where you can write your own names in is The Hearts of Iron Series of Games.
You can rename individual units within the army group and also rename the Army Group itself, although im aware its a different kind of engine to RTW.
still it would be cool to be able to manage your legions with specific names, im a die hard fan of traditionalism and organisation and i like the idea of named legions all over...
im sure there must be some way to code it in...
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
Indeed, it would be great if it was possible.
You should ask this question in the main modding forums.
Who knows, with a bit of luck, a guy from CA will answer you.
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
We eventually plan to implement repmans leadership traits/ancillaries system, which gives a unique "Legion" Ancillary to characters that earn the rank of Legate.
Re: New Legions for Roma Surrectum
THey look awesome. Just two questions.
The ones with leggings are from cold provinces? And just another: Why do they change from Republican two imperial(i have no idea)?

The Republican Legions would be before Rome had an Emperor. The Imperial, after.
