Is there any way to code a dismounted general that will upgrade to a mounted general in the late game? Maybe by switching the upgrade model line in export_descr_units.txt?
1stly i dont mean to fish out older posts, but this gent had a question that wasnt answered and I think i can help. (i was searching for something and this looked interesting to me)
so anyways
in Export_description_unit look at the general's bodyguard entries. notice that the bodyguard has this
attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, very_hardy, can_withdraw, general_unit
notice the late_bodygaurd has this added
attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, very_hardy, can_withdraw, general_unit, general_unit_upgrade
well replace the bodyguard with the unused unit dismounted_body gaurd and now u got ur dismounted upgrading to mounted
search for this entry in export_unit

ps. note that this for NE only
simple changes can be made to allow se, me and ee to use this, but stock is NE only!!!!!
Thank you for the reply...I was thinking that there was someway to do this. I have already created a dismounted general's bodyguard for my Irish faction...but late in the game I would like them to mount...if this works, then thanks a million.
