Alpaca's MTW2 Begining Modding Files/Progs

Can't seem to find what I initially need.

1) .strings.bin converter

I tried to download using the following link you alluded to

All I get is an invalid file id and I can't seem to find the converter on twcenter.

Did it get moved?

2) Also need python scripting tool for pc. I know it exists under unix but i've never used it. Just used to shell. Where can I get one for the pc that will allow me to run alpaca's scripts?

3) Do I need anything else? Writing software not a problem.

I've already edited the unpacker, done the extraction and now have my sandbox ready.

I'm looking to initially a) alter some unit stats and movement, b) apply some of foz's fixes, c) attempt to add a new unit or two.
