Dismounted Crusader Knights?
I've been thinking these guys don't exist in the game at all (Yet, seeing as in the Crusader Campaign in Kingdoms we'll get 'em), but in another thread I recently heard that in the Middle East you can get dismounted Templar. I have a minor chapter house in Acre for the Knight's Hospitallers, but I can still only train Cavalry. Are there any dismounted Hospitaller knights in the game, or only the Templars? I guess I can capture another castle in the holyland and try an entice the Templars to my side, but honestly, I like the Hospitallers more. Anyways, thanks for your help.
Re: Dismounted Crusader Knights?
There are no dismounted order knights, only unhorsed knights(somethimes refered to dismounted crusader knights), which you can get as mercs.
Re: Dismounted Crusader Knights?
yeah you can get the dismounted knights in the crusades areas from Catholic factions.
Re: Dismounted Crusader Knights?
Yeah, they're actually called 'Unhorsed Knights' - mercs for Crusader armies, which from what I've seen, are only available in the Holy Land. They're basically Feudal Foot Knights with 3 higher attack, so get them if you can.
Re: Dismounted Crusader Knights?
They're not only for crusading armies, you can get them anytime as a catholic faction. They are available in Edessa, Antioch, Aleppo, Acre, Damascus and Jerusalem. They have a VERY slow replenish rate, and there are a max of 2 available at one time, so they are very rare. In my current Milan campaign, I've gotten the whole levant, and got jerusalem within the first 20 turns. It's now turn 80, and I've only got 4 units... I've retrained them each time they have suffered casualties though.
BTW, once you have hospitallers in your empire, you can no it's impossible to get the templars, and vice versa. Once you get one, you can't have the other. You can capture a city with the guild already in place though.
Re: Dismounted Crusader Knights?
Liek Horetore, you can get them anytime you want in the Levant. I actually hired quite a few of them eventually in my venetian migration campaign and they are equivalent to the feudal knights
