Re: Untrustworthy Generals
Marry your princesses to them...that gives them Royal Ties, which gives a significant boost to loyalty, though at this moment I can't find it in the Bradygames strat guide...:book:
Also the "Feels Appreciated" line of traits has major loyalty boosts...how you get those I have no idea.
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
Thanks Frederick…
Yeah, I have a couple of generals with ‘Feels Appreciated’ trait, but have no idea what the trigger is. And unfortunately my male children outnumber the girls by about 10 to 1!
On a related note, does anyone know of a list of traits, their effects, and possible triggers? I’ve seen one for ancillaries, but not traits
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
They're all listed in the strat guide...all the traits and their effects, but not the triggers.
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
This makes me wonder...
Has anybody condensed the trait and ancillary list down to a spreadsheet yet?
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
Its probably somewhere in the modding tutorials section.
Basically chiv generals hate dread faction leaders and generals in general hate being in a backwater town/castle.
Move them around the countryside and fight battles with them (and win them), that makes them happy.
In general loyalty doesn't matter much unless one of your AI enemies has too much money to spend and starts bribing (which is very difficult and expensive)
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
I usually can count on 1 or 2 generals getting bought off in the course of a campaign if I'm playing as one of the factions in northern Italy.
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
Give them more (expensive) troops, makes it nigh on impossible then :p
Or even put 2 generals into one stack.
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
If somebody could hook me up with the triggers, I would be more than willing to put together an excel spreadsheet with all the trait, effect, and trigger info...
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
Thanks guys--that helps! :idea2:
I'll let you know if I come across the triggers.
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
@faction heir : You can find a list of traits, ancillaries and triggers in the following files :
export_descr_character_traits.txt (EDCT)
export_descr_ancillary.txt (EDA)
@Barbarossa : Wish you the best on the spreadsheet... Would do it if I had more time on my hands..
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
As for the triggers of the Appreciated/unappreciated Trait, I think it stands with the odds of the fights you send your general in (the more favorable, the less he will feel appreciated) or the location of the town and the development put into it (if you leave him in a backwater town for x turns, he will feel abandoned, the more so if no buildings are built or no effort to convert the region)...
I noticed that sending more than one general on any battle made the secondary generals (i.e. those not leading the army) feel unapp. also...
Hope that helps...
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
Put an assassin with a stack and they will not rebel, or be bribed. Although bribery is borked in M2TW. Almost impossible, definately not worth the cost. Spy's work well also to stop a stack from rebelling.
Re: Untrustworthy Generals
OK so making a spreadsheet isn't going to be QUITE as easy as I thought at first...anybody who's any good at reading the .txt files feel free to PM me...:help:
