Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Which one do you think you will play first?
Tuetonic Order
Crusades
Britannia
Americas
I intend to play them all eventually, but I'm probably going to play Britannia first, possibly as someone new (though I haven't done the Scots or English yet in Vanilla M2tw).
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Hope to play all campaigns also but will start with the Americas as that's the real new element, the rest being almost already in th main game.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Honestly?
None.
I was really hoping for a MTWII: Reformation/Renaissance.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
I'll try the Britain one first, followed by either Crusader or Eastern Europe. Then I'll probably replay the Britain, Crusader and Eastern Europe ones over with the different factions. I'm not interested in the American one; I expect I shall try it once simply for the sake of having seen it.

Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
It's all about the hotseat!
:searches for local TW afficianados:

Really? The Americas one appeals to me very much.

I adore early medieval history, love the so called 'high' era, and start to lose interest once guns begin to appear. The American campaign is going to be set after the time my interest has taken a big dive. It's also set in a place I'm not interested in, filled with cultures which don't appeal to me. I like my knights in armour, my longbows, and my castles; I have a penchant for Samurai too. Aztecs, Maya and all that aren't my thing.
Different tastes and interests. I think it is good the expansion is covering multiple periods. This way there should be something for most people.

Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Im looking forward to the "whole map campaign" which covers the americas/europe:) Known/new World Campaign as soon i can get that 2nd,
3rd and 4th line of spearmen to CHARGE with the first line!!!! ^_^

Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Definitely the Teutonic Campaign first, then probably the Americas. Not very interested in the Britain campaign, and I'm not sure about the crusades campaign.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
I think the Teutonic, but to be honest especially the timeframe of the Britain campaign dissapoints me a lot.
I really hoped for a reworked viking invasion.
Who knows, perhaps SEGA or CA someday see the point in redoing the vikings.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Truely I am interested in all of them. But prioritizing it would be Britain, America, Eastern europe, Crusader.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Britain, Crusader, Eastern Europe, and I'm with frogbeastegg on the American one.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
I'm with the amusing Thief weapon, aka Frogbeastegg. Definitely Britain first, then Crusader, then Eastern Europe, then eventually America. As for factions in the British campaign, I'm undecided, but very excited about playing as the Welsh, perhaps my favorite faction from VI. It's a toss-up whether I'll play as my ancestors the English, my ancestors the Scots, or my wannabe ancestors the Welsh first -- whatever I'm into at the time, I guess.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
America for me.
The reason? FEATURES mwahahahahaha
Seriously, that one's gonna have the most interesting gameplay changes (prestige points, reinforcements from home) so I'm gonna play it to check out what I could do with them as a modder.
Also, I barely ever get to see gunpowder in the normal game so I'll enjoy that, too.

Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Teutonic
cause the helmets look AWESOME :smash:
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Do you have to ask?
Teutonic, of course! Slay the Pagans!
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Americas... GERONIMO !!!
Followed by Crusades... SALADIN !!!
Actually I think all the new campaigns look great and all should be FUN

Exactly, Froggy. I'm looking forward to the Crusades Campaign the most. That will be quite enjoyable.
The Brittanic Campaign comes in second, with the Baltic Crusades coming in close third.
The New World Campaign, however, is dead last.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
I'm most looking forward to the Crusades and Teutonic Campaigns, with the other two less interesting to me. That said, I like this approach very much in that the campaigns are like more in depth versions of the different areas in the main campaign.

My thoughts exactly (even on the Samurai thing :p).

Sv: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Voted for the britain campaign.
Gonna be fun being the vikings again and conquer England :medievalcheers:
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
The Crusades, but that is down to my general love for the era. Then I will probably try out the America's to play around with the new features, same as alpaca, then I will probably go onto England or Teutons, not sure which, but all the campaigns do interest me alot. Especially from a modders perspective.
-
Re: Which Medieval 2: Kingdoms campaign takes your fancy?
Teutonic campaign for me, I was quite disappointed that the Ordenstaat of the teutonic knights was not included in any mod considering the impact they made on history.
Does anyone know if war wagons will be made available now and if any units will be reskinned? I think the Eastern European peasants and Lithuanian Units in the vanilla game look awful and not true to life.
How about new units for vanilla factions in the main campaign?
Anyone notice the # of factions now, 13 new ones. That makes 34. Is this the true limit or is the limit 31 per campaign. In any case 31 factions on the say Crusades map can be quite interesting for the modders.

Well said, Froggy; you took the words right out of my mouth.
My priority list would be the same as IrishArmenian: Crusades, Britannia, Teutonics, and I'll probably never play the America campaign, not even once. I just couldn't care less about the area in that time period.

Vikings???
The campaign is dated 12something.
Can't remember the exact date for this campaign, but way long after viking invasions of the british isles.

The whole expansion is quite interesting for all us modders tbh, lots of nice new possibilities to play around with.
I think the lack of the Teutonic Knights as a playable faction has purely come down to the majority of modifications not focusing on the "later" periods and looking at the start, I must confess I am happy to see them make an appearance, I do love my Crusader Orders.
