Questions/Suggestion

Hello all,

Just found this MOD today and I am quite impressed.

I was wondering if there was anyway the pronunciation of the factions could be made available. I mean, it is easier to remember a name and associate it with a region/people if you know how to say their name. You could have a page that has the little icon for each faction with its respective name, then people could click on the icon and a proper pronounciation could be heard.

Also, is it just me, or do the flags not quite match all the time? I've only played for a couple of hours, so I'm still getting to know the modified game/interface/enemies, etc. But The Eleutheroi cities to the north had a flag over their cities that was one of the "rebel" flags from the regular game, and there was an army skulking around my territories that, when I moused over it, said it was Eleutheroi, but its flag didn't match the flag of the city
-edit: OH, nevermind the part about the flags, I just read on your site that Eleutheroi means "independant". This explains whay the different flags.

Most of the time, you can guess how the names are pronounced ,for yourself. As for the units names (fortunately, the EB team provided us with the mundane English terms) For instance, names in Greek are pronounced...eh...like Greek I suppose. After a while playing and listening to the voices from the voice mods you can easily imitate the language or accent... Latin names are quite obvious I suppose, since the pronounciation is quite related to English (I think)
I do still have problems with the Celtic names, since I know that Celtic is a hard language and the names do not quite sound like they are written at all Could someone post some simple rules on Celtic pronounciation?

Oh, and could someone help with these: Sauromatae Fistaeg Fat Aexsdzhytae and the likes of these...Am I right by guessing that it's somehow like this: Saaw-row maatai Feest-æy Faat Axe-Dzuutai or am I totally fucked up :rolleyes3:

One other thing that I think would be kind of neat.

Would it be possible to have the factions named as the faction you are playing named them, then have the name that they called themselves in parathensis below it or something.

For instance, if you are playing rome, the greeks would be called "greeks" or however the romans spelled/said it and then under it in parathesis, "Koinon Hellenon"

We can't name a faction depending on what faction the player himself is playing. Unfortunately we cannot do that.

I think "ae" makes a long "a" sound, like the a in "day", and "ai" makes the long "i" sound, like the i in "die". But I'm probably wrong in the face of dozens of Latin students. I've always pronouced that Saw-row-ma-tay Feest-ayg Faat Ayks-jah-hy-tay, basically how you say it, so I think you're probably mostly right.

But "Cidainh" is pronouced Key-dunkh :\...

Hm, what language is that?
Not Latin or Greek, I think.

If it were Latin, your pronounciation would be right I think (except it wouldn't be Axe-Dzuutai but Aixdzuutai, but I suppose that was just a typo ;))

in Latin "ae" is indeed pronounced "aye"
