How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
Well I feel a bit of an idiot to post this but I can't see the difference between billmen vs cav before I installed this and after. I think I've not installed it correctly.
Is there a way I can check if it's installed or not ?
What I did is:
1. Downloaded the 46 Meg zip.
2. Unzipped to desktop
3. Went into the folder and ran the RAR, changing the the dir to the games location on my HD.
I also ran the .bat in the M2TW folder and still I don't really see any difference. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, any help appreciated.

It is LOL.
You should also have got a shortcut in the ZIP folder, paste that to the desktop and use that.
To check if it's working go to custom battle mode then select HRE as a faction and look at the charge value for Dismounted Gothic Knights, it should read 8.
Re: How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
Hi Carl, which shortcut should I be using ? You mean the .bat right ? Thanks.
Re: How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
Nope, when you unzipped the Zip folder their should have been the RaR file and a Desktop Shortcut. Simply paste the Shortcut to the desktop and that will access the correct .bat file. Whatever you do don't move or change the .bat file. In fact theirs no reason for you to go into the M2TW folder and touch the .bat file strictly speaking.
If you use the Shortcut I mentioned and don't move the .bat file it should work flawlessly from day one, at least in theory :smash:.
Re: How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
Just ran some custom battles using the batch file in the M2TW folder. When I paste the 2kb shortcut found in the zip, it's looking for the batch file and can't find it. I guess that's because my batch file is in D:Games/Medieval 2 Total War.
Do you know how I can fix that in the batch file ?
Anyway... WOW ! This is GREAT ! Highly recommended mod ! AWESOME !
I REALLY love it. I still have'nt gone through it completely but the initial custom battles were fantastic. Such joy to see lancers get impaled on pikes. lol
Still needs tweaking though, I'm sure you're busy with it.

After you get the shortcut up on the desktop right click o it and select properties, then look for the "target" line and change the
"C:"
At the start to a "D:"

Re: How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
Thanks !
Actually could you guide me through what I want to do ?. It's been a few months since I last touched M2:TW and I've forgotten most modding I did earlier.
Here's what I want my installation to look like.
1. PureFixer 1.13 by you
2. Free Castle Upkeep by Foz
3. 0.5 Timescale and all events modified to match this timescale.
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=74279
4. Some other modifications such as tourneys from here:
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=79633
5. Modification of merc availability to make the Eastern factions have easier access to the mostly eastern mercs but also to enhance the unit roster of the Western factions.
If I do all this is it compatible with Pure ? Which files should I not change ?
Thanks if you can help !
Re: How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
I'd wait on the 1.2 Patch compatible version of ProblemFixer Pure as that will include the Free Upkeep stuff in castles, just not as many units as Foz has given you LOL.
Besides, adding a lot of those tweaks in is going to be difficult although they are all compatible, but I'll go through the basics for you they should, (hopefully), be easy to follow.
You just need to get hold of the Export_Descr_Buildings file, (if you've unpacked the filed it will be in the Data Directory of your M2TW folder), modify it with Foz's program, then put it in the ProblemFixer/Data Folder in your M2TW folder. You'd then need to go into the Export_Descr_Units file in the ProblemFixer folder and add to the end of the attributes line of every unit that doesn't already have it.
Thats the simple method. Mercs are a bit harder i'm afraid.
You'll find the File in the D:\Program Files\SEGA\M2TW\ProblemFixer\Data\World\Maps\Campaign\Imperial_Campaign Folder. It's called Descr_Mercenaries. If you find all the relevant entries for the Mercs you want to be more common and increase both replenish rate numbers that will increase how quickly they become available.

Added a bit of extra stuff and some spelling corrections BTW.
Re: How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
Thanks ! There goes my week... playing M2TW.
Re: How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
Ive recently installed this too, how do i set your vice and virtues fixes to 0.50 timescale like i have my game runnign at? or is it auto set to that?
Re: How do I know if ProblemFixer is installed ?
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval 2 Total War\ProblemFixer\Data\World\Maps\Campaign\Imperial_Campaign\Descr_Strat.
Edit the timescale in that file and their you go.
