Diplomatic Velveta

I think we've all seen the "I'll attack" cheese we can do with the Pope, where we promise to attack another faction to get in Papa's good graces. There is another piece of total cheese I ran into thats even more exploitable.

If you offer another faction map info and they decline it, you can continue offering it until they accept AND it increases your standing with them. I've been able to go from Abysmal to Perfect in one session doing this. Seems after loosing the War, France still hated me until I gave them a good set of road maps. :smash: :smash: :smash:

NOTE: This is with V 1.1 so if its been fixed, I need the update.

There's also a cheesy exploit with tribute.

you can offer, say 100 florins per turn for 10 turns. then change tribute offering a turn more each time. even if it is refused, keep going higher and eventually it will be accepted.

Regardless, your standing will rise and rise. It's a terrible exploit because it costs you nothing more each turn. Seems to me the diplomatic standing triggers are all messed up...has anyone successfully modded them?
