deep thought on having children...
Well, one's pretty bad, but you figure you got to have two so the little guy can have a brother or sister, right? Then you have two boys, and the wife says she wants a girl so you figure "Hell, three can't be much harder than two", right? What you don't realize is that your brain's fried because you haven't slept. After three, four is no big deal. You're so deep in it that nothing seems to matter any more. It's chaos. You're just trying to make it through each day alive. In the end you spend all the energy you have trying to get them into bed only to lie awake praying they don't get hooked on drugs, hurt, or worse - wind up dead in an alley somewhere.
Yeah, miracle of birth, my ass. I'll tell you what a miracle is: birth control that works.
Re: deep thought on having children...
Wouldn't go as far as calling that post a miracle but it sure is a compelling argument.
Re: deep thought on having children...
What's this about? You're 21 and you're already on your way towards your 4th kid :inquisitive:

A Father's Lament - since Adam, no doubt.
My empathy, man  There are some bright sides; if you manage to get a couple of them safely into their 20's, they can eventually take care of you in your dodderage. :)
Hang tough. It gets easier, later (or maybe you just get more used to it).

Christ no, I have no intention of having kids for at least a decade - though I can't say that for the others who I went to primary school with, some of whom have litters of their own...
It's actually a quote from a tv show (Stargate SG1) and I thought it was funny (and ever so true) so posted it here. Maybe I should have mentioned that in my opener...

There are no guarantees in life....
Re: deep thought on having children...
I've seen that episdoe of SG-1. I can add this. My mom wanted to have 4 young'ins, The only reason I have 2 siblings instead of 3 is that my parents were to poor to afford more.
Re: deep thought on having children...
Don't think about it, otherwise there would be no newborns. Pump out a few and then start thinking about what it all means, what on earth you have done, where your life has gone and what that giant sucking sound in your wallet means. The answer to all your questions is: you're dead.

Women are evil. They latch on to you and then your finished. And if they don't latch on either they don't call you back or give you a disease or both if you're unlucky enough.
Pure evil.
And don't talk to me about their diseases. Some one in her forties walked into the bar and got absolutely hammered and then her yeast infection started running down her legs and made a puddle on the floor. Look exactly like melted camembert cheese. What kind of god would give a disease like that to a creature that was supposed to be not-evil? Proof in and of itself...
Re: deep thought on having children...
Oh yeah diseases, they hurt. I know. But think of this, taking matters into your own hands also loses it's charm.

It would appear that Grey Fox has been striking out with the ladies, a lot by the sounds of it.
Dude, rent an 'art film' or something. Get some release. That hostility you're carrying around for 50% of the species ain't healthy.
Re: deep thought on having children...
I love my Little Zerglings. Yeah, they're a major pain in the ass, what with the crying, and the puking, and changing Diapers... :wall: but, now that they're there I really can't do much to change the fact. You say all of this stuff now, but then you'll fall head over heels in love with someone, and then you'll have your own child and go how in the hell was I talked into this? Or If you don't find someone, you'll be that creepy 40 something year old, with too much time on his hands, and an alcohol problem... which to me doesn't sound all that fun either.
Or theres always the possibility that the reasons why you harbour deep emnity towards women is that you have preference for a different gender.
Re: deep thought on having children...
My parents had 6 there parents had 7 and 11. I have kids or get disowned!
