whatever is goin on?!

i'm playing England right now and i'm about to conquer the world.. there're just 4 factions left against me: the Trimurids, The Turks, The Byzantine Empire and Hungary. I'm having a lot of fun and is about to eliminate the Hungarian and the Trimurids.

However in some huge battles that i have to command by myself, right in the middle of the battle, the game would suddenly quit to the windows screen having the warning box saying: TOTAL WAR ENCOUNTER UNSPECIFIED ERROR AND WILL NOW EXIT. That happened many times and its killing me...........u know? from the battle field to the windows screen.. arghh!! i've notice that all of those battles involves CULVERIN units. could it be some kind of bugs or anything? have anyone encounter this problem? any advice?

It might also be the Timurid ellyphant ransom/ransom refused (i.e. elephants in limbo) bug if it happens while you're playing against Timurids. I'm afraid you'll have to auto-resolve in that case... Very annoying, I'm sure.

What is that bug about?

If a timurd elephant unit has an uneven number of men (ie. not enough to fill an entire elephant) the game will CTD upon entering a battle with them.

Fixed in 1.1, iirc, though still reported.

Should be fixed for sure in 1.2
