Annoying Battle Commentary

Ok, I went through and completely reinstalled my game from scratch. Made the changes I like, and started playing. Apparently I missed one.

During a battle now, I get the advisor making all sorts of stupid comments. He doesn't show up, there's no flashing icon, just his voice saying stuff like, "Your men are under attack! You must do something!", and "The enemy are badly bloodied, they've lost half their men!". Shut up and let me focus!

How do I shut that repetitive jerk up? I'm about ready to knock him out if I ever hear the guy that voiced him. :boxing:

I and several others have mentioned this. If a battle is going back and forth as they sometimes do, especially inside the settlement in a siege assault, it can get down right irriatating.

Actually, if they found some one who could immitate the late Howard Cosell, it would at least be funny.:laugh4:

In best Cosell voice..

"well here we are"
"its the bottom of the the 11 century"
"the french are batting nil for 2"
"and heres the pitch (flaming catapult ball over the wall)"
"STI....RIKE (Enemy general dies in battle)"

From other threads, I gather no one has found a way to turn him off.

Watch, the "fix" for this dude will be part of the Kingdoms expansion. What a way to pump up sales. :P

Must admit it gets really annoying after a while.

Did they add any more female voices ? That might have pumped the sales a bit.... (joke)

this has goto be the worst 'feature' I have encountered

its almost a game breaker for me.. makes me wanna go out and hurt someone :smash: ... and Im already in Australia... what pubs you CA guys frequent anyway???

While it's not driving me crazy, it is annoying. Sometimes the messages interrupt each other or get delayed. I had the voice shout out one time "The enemy has lost half their men!" when they'd actually lost about 70 percent.

That particular event is triggered per army, so while you may have killed 70% of the enemy's total forces, you probably only just mowed through half of that particular reinforcement army...
