Well, he's gonna find out now.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Falwell.Quote:

Good riddance. That is all I have to say.

Huh. :inquisitive:
Are we safe from the teletubbies? :hide:
Rest.
May he rest in peace.
In the last half century he has preached to many people, seeking to bring them closer to salvation, as well as having offended others with precisely the same messages.
Falwell is now before the "Only Opinion" who Falwell himself believed really mattered.
Well, he supported a lot of positions I disagree with, but done is done. Rest in peace, Mr. Falwell.
Rest in peace.
Falwell told the story of Hezekiah, who in the Bible asked to live for 15 more years.Quote:

I smell a Larry Flynt editorial in the making...
Goodbye.
I've always believed the Falwell vs LArry flint debacle was similar to the Andy Kaufman vs Lawler fued, a totally staged act between two opposites looking to gain notoriety amongst their peers.
Falwell, and his bogus suit against Flint for a satirical piece in a porn magazine, helped shape the US legal standard for libel/slander and as such he deserves a permanant place in 1st amendment textbooks forever and ever. Rest in peace u crazy bastard.
As I understand it, the Prez named today Jerry Falwell (appreciation) day of national mourning and the WH flag is at half-mast. No doubt all of America feels at great loss to see such a huge (350 pounds) figure removed from our presence. Better (wo)men have passed without a word of respect from this WH - this guy deserved no special acknowledgement, except that he helped Bush get elected.

As he is likely gone to heaven, I rejoice!
As he is gone, I likewise rejoice!
In any case, rejoice, and again I say rejoice!

That crook also helped thousands if not millions of people. He wasnt a saint and he wasnt a devil . But he certainly deserves better than hes getting here just because you dont agree with his philosophy.Quote:

Larry Flynt had a nice statement on the passing of Rev Falwell.

Too bad others within the media don't have his class.
That's class indeed - thanks for sharing.Quote:

Meh, I don't care enough to really say anything else on this subject, but I will say this much. My opinion posted earlier was an extremely politically corrected manner of stating my true thoughts.Quote:

Nobody forces anybody to make flattering statements here. We just "appreciate" the more critical reviews or statements about the lives of recently deceased are at least kept back for a while.Quote:

As a culture of life we respect the passing of individuals, even those who take life, well those of us who choose to exhibit decorum greater than the our disdain or malice.Quote:

I don't think there's anything wrong with that policy.Quote:
