Adding a new unit formation

In RTW you were able to add a new unit formation by changing the Horde.tga file in the formation directory .. but you could never add it as a special ability on the menu (as a second formation).

Anyone know if adding new formations (special abilities) is possible in M2TW? For example, If I wanted my spearmen to form a wedge formation.
