How do?
When I open my preference file, MTW2 1.2, it's empty apart from four lines of rubbish so I have to play with the crappy green arrows, anybody know what's up with this? I've got vista.
Cheers.

It's the preference.cfg which you must open.
If that's the one you opened, then play the game once (load it once, I mean) and after that you can configure preference.cfg
Yep, I know all that, I've been playing for a month, but the file is still empty, it doesn't make any sense. Cheers anyway.Quote:

I don't see what the problem is...
When I use notepad to open preference.cfg there's nothing in there, just four lines of rubbish text at the top, I don't know if it's something to do with vista or what, I used to muck about with it all the time with RTW but that was when I had XP, the green arrows do my swede in!Quote:

You change "arrow markers" or something similar from true to false, well, I think you do 'cos there's nothing in my chuffing preference file.Quote:

And that's it.
Which file are you attempting to edit?
C:\\Program Files\Sega\Medieval II Total War\ Medieval2.preference.cfg.Quote:

same for everything.
Interesting.
Not sure what to say, but to suggest that you add in the lines you want under the correct headings anyway...
Right I tried that but I couldn't save, it flagged an error, "make sure file name and path are correct" I think the file might be corrupt, although I deleted it so it would create a new one but it's still the same. Might have to reinstall the game, ah well thanks for your help guys, I just thought it may have been a known issue that's all.Quote:
