Interesting bug....
I don't know if this has been reported or not, so I'll just mention it here. This is vanilla 1.2 game.
Used one of my Byzantine princesses to steal a Venetian general. Long story short, the Venetian guy becomes a faction heir, and once the emperor dies, he takes over the byzantine throne.
Now the bug: the family tree has disappeared. All that is displayed on the family scroll is the *first*(and long since dead) Venetian Doge and his long dead wife. That's it. Now, the oyal line is still there, I have the emperor and his heir, so functionally everything looks good, but nothing is listed on the family scroll.

Re: Interesting bug....
Had that one too, with an English general married into my Scottish royal line. I figured maybe it has to do with the way another faction's royal is listed in your own familiy tree when you "marry princess to heir" diplomatically, but other than that, no clue. I thought my whole campaign was borked out of this and quit it the turn after :/

Re: Interesting bug....
Yes its been reported before. If you steal a general from another faction with a princess parts of the family tree might disappear. But I thought it was fixed in 1.2. Other than screwing up the family tree picture it does not appear to affect the campaign in any other way.
