How do I use the move character cheat, cause in my Qarthadastim campiagn, the Makedonians, who are down to Chalkis and Athenai, just put fifteen units on a lemboi flee, and set sail for Kyrenia. My problem is that if I kill the army, then Makedonia will die, which I don't want to happen yet, especialy as if they use this army inteligentely, they could have a comeback.
So, how do I move their fleet back into the Aegean?
'move_character' doesn't always work right with admirals. But it doesn't matter, once the AI has made a decision they will do all they can to complete it or it can't be completed. If the AI decided to move a fleet, even if you move it, it will just keep trying to go where they want it to go.
Hmm, could I use a cheat to spawn an army in greece identical to the one they lost, since it dosen't have any family members with it?
You could use:
create_unit "character/settlement" "internal unit name" # exp wep arm
like:
create_unit "Athenai" "hellenstic infantry heavy pezhetairoi" 5 1 1 1
Why would you want to kill them at first place?
Cause its their entire army, even with the money scripts there's no way they could train new units in greece, and even if I let them have Kyrenia, the Ptolemaioi would have it off them in half a dozen turns, thus killing Makedonia.

Do you have Forced diplomacy mod?Maybe you can give them some province that you take from someone else. When you give them province it spawns certain amount of units in it.

Yeah, I'm just about to try the force diplomacy. Ahh well, it can't make things worse.
Yeah, if you use forced diplomacy and make them your ally or protectorate, it might be enough for them to turn their fleet around. But they might just attack you anyways, since the AI doesn't follow diplomacy too well.

Yeah, but remeber the Makedonians of pre 0.8, what happen to them?
I saw something similar once. Carthage had three stacks standing on their border with Cydaus but only sent a couple units to attack it and kept failing. I used the move_character cheat to move all of their stack next the city while they were sieging it and they took the next turn. They then moved their attension to Iberia where they had been losing for decades because all of their military was staring off into the desert.Quote:

And Maks AI is completely uncapable to bring reinforcements from Mytilene most of the times. They usually end up having stack there standing and wasting their upkeep money.And they can't make better quality units in Corinth, which they never manage to keep for long anyways.
Resulting in Maks cannot replace losses , while KH and Epiros are multiplying like rabbits..:oops:
**** EDIT: thats why i was saying on other thread that Maks are not that much of ease anymore. Sure they are easier then most of the factions , but you do have tougher time in Greece in beggining then before. In Greece at present EB version , easiest to play is KH now..oh well , it's same to me..
yeah I think their problem is population and the isolation of Myteline in non BI EB (although they do sometimes use it to capture Pergamon). But as the Maks I have often had a popultion problem, and this campaign is on huge so...
This impresion is hightend by the fact that in the ocassion's when they take Greece quickly, they often suddenly exploded (possibly due to acces to Athenai's large population).
I'll try giving them a population bost, and see if that shakes them up a bit. Are there any internal plans to try and increase Makedonia's power in future builds?

I have juggled with money in game, completly crippling the selukid economy (although they refuse to colapse) and giving Pontus, Saba, Hai, Sauro, Saka, Baktria, Pahalava and slave lots of money. A few turns ago I just typed in add_money, slave, and then sat there for five minutes pressing up, enter, up, enter but and I think in the end they got something in the nature of 10 milions, but would it make any difference? No.
And I give the Ptolemaioi lots of money, but they still wont send much at me, although they seem to be getting into the habit of sending the following stack at me: 2-3 machiomoi phalangitai, 1-2 pezhetairoi, 1-2 klerouchoi Agema, I-2 machiomoi hippeis and 2-3 galatikoi klerouchkoi. They've given me that twice in a row now, I nearly fainted with supprise and delight when they first sent it at me.
Slightly different problem this time, having just tken ambrakia and converted Epiros into the the Tarntien league, making them my protecterate in the process, how do I move a left over army in Aitolia into Magna Grecia?
Meaning what is the exact formula to be put into the shell, and which file are the cordiantes drawn form?
don't know the formula, but the coordiantes you got from the game. Just point your cursor on the place you want and tipe show_cursorstat into the consoleQuote:

I think Mytilene is a big part of the Macedonian problem. That combined with the fact that they just seem to be stupider in general means they always end up losing...except in this game! (me as Bactria)

Just kidding, that was all my doing. Desperate to see them actually be of importance rather than an Epirote or KH punching bag I first would randomly process_cq Pella/Demetrias to get their infrastructure up and running. Then when that did nothing, I snatched Tylis/Byzantion for them and gave them 100k. When that still wasn't useful enough, I bribed every single KH/Epirote army I could, including Athens and Thermon; I have 6 bribed generals hiding in a corner of Greece. The Macedonians were also in the top 3 world military, which is saying something given some of the strong empires there are in this game. Yet, with both other Greek factions having nearly nothing to keep themselves alive, the Macedonians did not attack and finish them off, but rather a few turns later both Pella and Athens were under siege! After a few more repeats I gave up and auto win'ed with a bribed KH general and mercs and gave them their new Empire. After this, they have surprisingly been doing something within a few years, retaking Serdike, conquering Kallatis, and sieging Naissos. They had 3 full armies sitting on Mytilene for the longest time but they have recently vanished.
I found rather interesting results from my tampering this game (with the A.I balancing mod). I'll post them in that thread tomorrow.
Use the show_cursorstat command. It will tell you the coordinates that the cursor is currently pointing at (it has to be transversible land if you want to move an army there).Quote:

Then you find the name of the guy you want to move. (Say it is Pyrrhos Aiakides) For the name, it has to be the birth name, titles don't count. And the name has to be the internal version, so Somebody of Someplace would be "Somebody of_Someplace", and a Roman First Middle Last would be "Firstmiddle Last", and for the Arverni it is confusing.
The command form you would want is (exactly spacing and punctuation):
move_character "Pyrrhos Aiakides" 76,124
(Btw, don't move characters that are inside of cities, it causes... problems.)
