At creation or if your general has 5 command stars or more and the new turn just started
[edit]
Also if he wins a night battle that was initiated by the enemy.
i'm not entirely sure, but he might get it if you have him with a general with the trait already (and have him as a second general in the same stack, NOT re-enforcement since that wouldn't work)
There is no trigger for what WhiskeyGhost says. Only 2 triggers are the ones I mentioned.
mmkay, i recall my theory back, and thank you for confirming its innacuracy =P
It´s if you´re forced to fight night battle (which AI doesn´t do...), or you´re born with it, or have enough command stars to battle at night, im not sure if it comes when you get 5 stars or if you need to fight at night first.
It's usually when you get 5 stars tallied in the command section next to your general's portrait. It can't be 3 stars with +2 when attacking, for example, though. It must be 5 or more command stars at all times, not just in a specific situation.
Then, of course, there are the other things, being forced to fight at night and being born with it. I haven't ever had either of those, though, so I can't say anything there.
I saw that yesterday. Two stacks of Mongols attacking Antioch decided to do that at night so my reinforcement army was not able to fight.Quote:
